these look like lema solani (banded lema leaf beetle) i've dealt with similar issues and what helped me most were things such as neem oil, and organic sprays like spinosad (monterey garden insect spray or bonide captain jack's deadbug brew) and even pyrethrin (pyganic)

spilled some cracked corn and the freeranging chickens immediately went to work. there's nothing wasted on the farm...
i was trying to take an artistic shot of this bee by the lavender but it decided i was doing too much...
