10 years ago, I released Sacramento. A tiny game in the vast world of video games, but a huge part of my creative & professional life. If a team makes a game that gets great reviews and doesn't sell, that's a biz failing but the silver lining is you caught lighting in a bottle -- protect that team! It's worth its weight in gold. If you jettison the team but keep the biz people, I don't know what to tell you

additional context here that's maybe interesting I've made a few combat prototypes before but never been totally satisfied with them. This concept sits on top of those, is meant to really get at the thing I want first real prototype was in Dark Thicket (more in thread)
