無印の頃は、明智にとって死は一つの「自由の形」なのかもしれないと思っていた。 でも今あらためて振り返ると、18歳で、そんな大きな代償を払って得る自由は、あまりにも残酷に感じてしまう。 それが「割に合わない選択」だったと気づけるのは、同類としてではなく、「これから」を見る大人の視点を持てた時なのかもしれない 明智の行動は、かっこいいから合理的だったのではなく、極限の環境の中で自分を保つために、選ばざるを得なかった生存戦略だっただけだと思う ただ、その戦略は未来を連れてこない。 自由や尊厳がどれだけ大切だとしても、 18歳の命を差し出してまで得るべきものなんて、この世界にはないと思ってしまう。
