Last night I went to the @fullertonmuseum for the opening of their new exhibition “Final Rites: Death, Mourning, & Beyond”. It was excellent A gothic good time was had by all. 🌹🪦
I think Close-Up bares a striking resemblance to Valentino.
Today I got to spend time with my dear friend Sara Clark. She was crowned “Miss Muscle Beach” in 1948 and is still going strong at 95 years old! Sara inspires me and always gives me so much encouragement and hope. I cherish every moment we get to spend together.
The next Hollywood Kitchen will happen Sunday, August 30th at 10:30am PST right here on this page. It will be all about actress Marian Nixon and her biographer Laura Elizabeth Jerrolds will be my special guest. www.facebook.com/karie.bible

I have been devastated this week about the passing of Dolly Parton. I’ve been a fan of hers my entire life. Aside from being a great singer and songwriter, she was a kind, caring human being and a true original. Dolly touched so many lives including mine. 🎶🎼🎵🦋💕⭐️🐈⬛
Tonight I met up with Brian Rohan on the beach in Santa Monica. We decided to recreate the photo of Joan Crawford and her first husband Douglas Fairbanks Jr back in 1929. Thank you to Darrell Rooney for taking the pictures.
Today is #blackcatappreciationday Close-Up celebrated by eating part of my breakfast and rocking a lot of attitude. Black cats are friendly, intelligent, loving, affectionate and a black cat crossing my path was the BEST thing that could have happened to me.
Today was bliss! I introduced TOP HAT to a nearly sold out crowd at the Old Town Music Hall The audience laughed in the right places and burst into applause after every musical number.
I’ll be introducing the film TOP HAT (1935) this Sunday, August 16th at 2:30pm at the historic Old Town Music Hall in El Segundo, CA. This film was a huge hit during the Great Depression and can still provide joy and escape ninety-one years later.
Director Cecil B. DeMille was born on August 12th, 1881. He directed the silent version of "The Ten Commandments" in 1923 and the talking and Technicolor remake in 1956. He is also remembered by many for his appearance in "Sunset Blvd". DeMille is interred with his family at Hollywood Forever.
The white praying mantis has returned to my garden. Fortunately my world is not engulfed in terror….yet.
Happy #InternationalCatDay! Life can be filled with unexpected gifts and Close-Up is one of them. I love my boy so much! He really chose me and I’m grateful everyday. ⭐️💕🐈⬛
This past week was filled with stress on many fronts, so a tiki night out seemed like the best possible way to cope! I love Lucky Tiki in Highland Park. It such a beautiful place! 🥥🌴🧉🌺🌊🐠🐟

The other day I came across a beautiful Art Deco gas station in Alhambra. It is currently sitting there empty and up for sale. I really hope that someone buys it and makes it into something. #preservation #historicpreservation #artdeco #losangeles
I just realized that yesterday Hollywood Kitchen is six years old and I've done 159 episodes. I have to pinch myself at the incredible people I've gotten to have on the show! I'm so grateful to everyone who watches and supports it. I've got so many great things planned for the future, so stay tuned!

Vaudeville star Eva Tanguay was born on August 1, 1878. She was often called "The I Don't Care Girl" after a song she popularized on stage. Tanguay was brazen, sexual and daring--a trailblazer for other female performers. She is interred in the Abbey of the Psalms at Hollywood Forever.
