1942: Nobuo Fujita a Japanese pilot became the only person to bomb the US Mainland in WWII. His bombs went down near Brookings, OR. This is his 400+ year old family sword displayed in the Brookings library. Given by Fujita in 1962 as a gesture of international peace and goodwill. #Photography

Mount Shasta in California in early July, 2026. Last time I visited Mt. Shasta was in the early nineties in early Fall, before any winter snow had fallen. The top then was 100% snow and glacier covered, and that was at the end of summer. This is at the very beginning. #MountainMonday #Photography
