There’s a direct relationship between breath and pain tho so I am eager to try to learn this skill. (Hypermobile people often shallow breathe and we hold our breath a lot, both actions that cause our ribs to brace, leading to pain in ribs, back, and neck. Good times.)

Today’s physio session involved my physiotherapist teaching me how to breathe. Apparently I need supervision to breathe properly. While I’m grateful always for her guidance, sometimes living with EDS makes you feel like you can’t “human” correctly. It’s humbling.

I encourage all parents to opt out. Kids need to learn critical thinking skills before they learn AI. Other countries are banning AI in schools for this reason. So, aside from the environmental harm AI causes, do a solid for your child’s brain and allow them to develop these essential skills first.

PEI parents of kids in the K-12 school system: Just an FYI that you can opt out of your kid’s use of AI via the IT forms we have to sign every year. That form requires 2 signatures—one for AI (that you can opt out of) and one for general tech. So you can allow your kid to use computers, but no AI.

Hello #GardenSky… 👩‍🌾 Looking for advice/input from any veggie garden green thumbs out there: Any ideas why: 1. My onions refuse to grow (they are the same size they were when I planted the bulbs 2 months ago) 🧅 or 2. My potato stalks are slimy and nothing is growing 🥔 Appreciate any help! 🙏

I occasionally post to Linkedin, re: various editing services, reading/publishing industry info. I get small engagement and that’s ok. Last week, I posted about AI and it’s harmful effect on both creatives and the environment, and it attracted attention. Makes me wonder… /1

I beg doctors for help. I’m told the same old stuff you read about on lifestyle blogs: limit alcohol (I have maybe 1 glass wine a month), caffeine (my sometimes 1 cup coffee takes place at 730 am), no screens (this makes zero difference), and reduce stress. I’m convinced there’s more to it… /1

Awake since 3:30 and I guess since it’s now 6:00, that’s my sleep window closed. I slept from 11pm until 2am and then an additional hour from 2:30-3:30. This isn’t sustainable…

The only reasonable ethical discussion to have regarding "smart glasses" is whether or not to let the user remove the glasses prior them being smashed.

Fell back to sleep at 6 for one hour but had one of those too-real dreams that was unsettling. On one hand, yay I’m dreaming again after a decade of not. But I hate those dreams. At least with nightmares, they tend to be so unrealistic, you can put them into “movie category.” Not this one.

Wide awake again. At least I made it to 4:30 instead of the 3 o’clock hour. Can jet lag last a week or is this insomnia 2.0? I slept so well while on vacation and thought new meds were working but who knows anymore… 🤷‍♀️

I’m getting more emails from writers who used ChatGPT for editing “help,” and because they did so, are now being refused by agents, publishers, and editors. I feel for them because AI ignorance is huge, so here’s my PSA: You are more creative than a robot and you do not need AI.

Dog 1: [barking] Me (in other room): Stormy, quiet! Dog 1: [continues to bark, non-stop] Me (still in other room): [continues to scold verbally] Dog 1: [barking…] I finally get up to see what’s up with him and notice... Dog 2: [standing on our front yard] Dude was doing his job, despite me.
