#QueerPrompts i grew up fundamentalist in the 80s and 90s. I am not kidding that positive queer rep, especially directed at young people like Rick Riordan is doing now, might have changed the course of my fucking life. a few years ago when i saw the cover of the Nico/Will book i wept for 30 mins.

#QueerPrompts Stadi, Cole's Sangelli mother is a lesbian married to a bisexual woman. shes also a viewpoint character. so not just a lesbian but a lesbian with wings!
Took Otto to the store today and several people assumed I was his dad, which made me feel good that me standing there with a baby didn't automatically give off grandpa vibes instead i was ADAWM (assigned Dad at Walmart).
I may be a grandpa but I am also in my 'hooking up with college town guys' era. Don't judge me..I didn't get this era when I should have. I have a lot of catching up to do. lol. #GaySky
For my own part I use tropes like everybody does but I don't write with them in mind. #AmWriting #WriterSky ##AuthorSky
#QueerPrompts Zayne Has Toberon Hale/Proctor, his new CO, who takes him under his wing. Cole's mother Stadi coaches him somewhat, a role that will be expanding in book 2.
had a hookup with a cute grad student last night and he was ... um, very verbally expressive which is nice because i like to know when I'm doing a good job.. #GaySky #TooSpicyForFacebook
#QueerPrompts this is the 42nd Century and being queer isn't really remarkable anymore and there are famous queer people discussed in history classes because of their accomplishments not just because they're queer.
#QueerPrompts Zayne: accidentally because he lost control of his powers. Cole: What School? What Fire? You Can't Prove Anything!
#QueerPrompts Queer people are not the majority or anything but in most places it's not considered abnormal (there are more progressive and more conservative worlds of course).
#AuthorSky I regret to inform you that once again, I have chosen violence! on a comment thread under an ad for a 'service provider' that says you can pay them to get you 'legitimate' book reviews on Amazon.
sometimes people ask me what advice I have for newer writers, and I do have some: Get Out While You Still Can It's Too Late For Me But You Can Still Save Yourself!!! (jk sorta) #WriterSky
I say this as a person of Faith. If you're insisting that Science proves your faith is real, then you've kind of missed the point of Faith.
#QueerPrompts it's not really a thing in this world but if they were in our modern times Cole's official position would be 'I don't believe in ghosts except for the one in my moms' house that motherfucker is real!'
my favorite part of getting older is how your priorities crystalize and you let go of so many things that aren't that important, like the weight of everyone else's opinions and expectations.
#QueerPrompts I want to get the A/B draft of The Paradox Matrix finished by Feb 20th. And The Radiant Tomb edited and released on March 4th.
#QueerPrompts Zahra Nasryn/Mother Sage, one of Cole's mothers, is bi. She's married to a (badass) woman now, but she's still bi. this will become plot relevant eventually <maniacal laugh> (not because she cheats I don't play that way).
I have never committed war crimes but I may have accidentally left the kitchen light on a couple of times (allegedly) and according to my parents that's basically the same thing.
You can't want something for somebody more than they want it for themselves. Allow people the dignity of their own experience and consequences ... #AccidentalLifeCoach
#QueerPrompts Zayne's lifelong dream was to join the Vanguard and defend the empire from the Zhedari so ... adventure. Cole is an active member of the resistance but would like peace eventually.
#QueerPrompts neither Zayne nor Cole had trouble with this. I, however, was raised fundamentalist and was tortured by it, even marrying a woman because I thought it would 'fix me.' I came out to myself at 35, then got divorced and came out completely at 46 when my kids were grown. it was a lot.
he would be going through a whole process. Shock, anger, relief, finally amazement. he'd wish we were farther along on some goals but thrilled we are writing full time. he would be gobsmacked to realize we could just be gay and the world wouldn't end. and he'd be stoked we still have all our hair.
Would 20 y/o you be impressed or disappointed by you today?
