Caught Drew & the Blue and the Dracu-La's in Jersey City tonight. Tiny venue full of rockabilly oldsters and girls dressed like Bettie Page. Loved it.
Saw Birmingham's punk & poetic two-man Big Special at the Rockwell. Last show on their US tour! Great crowd, way into it.
She's Green at the Rockwell with Smush and Witches Exist (saw them last year opening for the Stereophonics). Terrible sightlines for shorties at the Rockwell but the music was really loud and really great.
VERY last minute decision to see DIIV (brilliant!) opening for Interpol. Crowd seemed positively cemented in place. I don't think I had seen Interpol since 2002, trying to remember where exactly that was. The title track off their new album is pretty pretty good.
Couldn't have dreamed up a better triple bill. Fiddlehead, Dinosaur Jr and Turnstile out in a noreaster in Portland ME.
Listening to the new Interpol and See Out Loud sounds like the best REM vehicle ever.
This is the fifth time in two years I've been in the same room as Jarvis Cocker, and I just couldn't take my eyes off him. Charisma overload. Then I danced and screamed the rest of the evening and it was just the nicest night one could possibly have.
Bikini Kill with Downtown Boys at Roadrunner, completely fabulous and raucous and inspiring and beautiful.
Sleater Kinney at MGM tonight, really excellent despite the sedate crowd and an undersold venue.
Went to see Slow Quit at OBriens with Muzzle, Lana Leone, and 711 Jesus. My phone camera decided to spontaneously downgrade to Y2k digital photo quality. Unbelievable.
@wbur.org using Title Fight in a bumper this morning? How unexpected.
You can drink four beers at a Clash cover band night in order to cope with being an empty nester! There are no rules! DC has great tiny venues!
I don't quite understand how you're allowed to bring your kid to college and then...just leave??
Finally caught Slow Quit, at the Midway with Dolly Sods, Still Life Sounds, and Teeth2.
Wunderhorse at Royale tonight. Nothing will ever top the feral and incendiary show they played to 300 people in a Montreal basement last winter, but I'm just happy they are back. Been Stellar opening with a WAY too short set, begging the question why don't they ever tour on their own??
I've never been complimented more on an article of clothing
This Slow Quit/Helens ep came out in March and I absolutely can't get enough of this song. 7/22 at the Silhouette in Allston!

Thanks to the dude on the train today angling his phone so I could watch, too 🙏🏼⚽❤️
We’ve fallen in love with the energy the Tartan Army has brought to Boston. I was honored to sign this Letter of Intent with Glasgow—a commitment to strengthening the friendship between our two cities. 🏴
The entire city of Boston is going to need grief counseling when the Tartan Army heads back to Scotland.
The Shyness Clinic touring again, a new Piebald album. What a time to be middle aged in Boston ❤️
Queuing before the show, some guy walked by & yelled "What a bunch of fucking Millennials," rude! I identify as an Xennial anyway. Nobody let him rain on the parade of a deeply nostalgic night. Hey Mercedes and the Get Up Kids opening for Jimmy Eat World playing all of Bleed American in Brooklyn.
My visceral desire for dissociation was simply crying out in need for this one.
Mr&Mrs evening with Belle and Sebastian playing all of If You're Feeling Sinister at the Orpheum. Certainly not old enough for the 30th anniversary of anything!
The Cardinals, from Cork, at the Rockwell. Their new album, Masquerade, is so great. Ones to watch!!

Brilliant night seeing LCD Soundsystem at Roadrunner, the first night of their Boston mini-run. Would absolutely like to go back tomorrow!!
