#HorrorWritersChat Q2 I try to give my characters the history they need to either drive or texture the narrative. In my script EXPEDITION, the character Martin is a combat vet, which lets him teach trigger discipline to the others in the group.

#AwesomeCharacters Oh, this prompt is perfect for my WIP! The main body of DEAD BEATS is essential the memoir of Seymour’s midlife crisis, and there’s a sizable flashback to his college days. He’s very honest about details and sensory input, but emotional honesty takes a lot of work for him.

I occasionally remember that I once put up with $100/week for a summer theatre internship (in the Hamptons, no less!) and I get filled with incandescent rage. Unpaid/underpaid internships are a workers’ rights issue, and we need to talk about it more.
I think Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties have a basically flawless run in: -We Don’t Have Each Other -Routine Maintenance -In Lieu of Flowers It’s one long interconnected and really beautiful narrative. If you like crying to acoustic guitar and brass solos, it’s hard to find better.
