Ok, thought I was maybe hallucinating, but nope, I did feel a little shake #eqnz
It was my turn to cook tonight, but I definitely wasn’t up to it. So we tried to get the cheapest takeaways delivered. Went with Noodle Canteen as the 8yo shares one with me. Can’t do that anymore! He ate like 3/4 of it, leaving me slightly hungry still!
As someone who was in an underground basement filled with these during a significant earthquake… I can say you do not wanna be squished! Don’t worry, I managed to get out of between them before the shaking started 😬
i don't like to police genre, but it's not dark academia unless somebody gets squished in one of these bad boys
Cuddled on the couch under a blanket watching Friends. I’ve either gotten sick… Or my body had been keeping it together while life around me was busy. Now that I’ve stopped, it’s decided to go meh
Time to start the set I got with the voucher my colleagues got me when I left the library. I thought it was very appropriate to get the book end set with that voucher 😂
This week was supposed to be a nice week off between jobs. The 8yo is really struggling with his emotions. And I am absolutely exhausted 😩
Film you've watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Star Trek, Star Wars, LOTR, Marvel, Disney, or Ghibli.

Just played a level in a video game with the 8yo where he was flying the plane and I was shooting. I actually got motion sickness as he was moving around too much
It started snowing again as I picked the 8yo up from school. He was super excited to throw snowballs at me when we got home 😂
Had my first WOAP burger. Talk Tikka to Me. From Smith the Grocer. It was delicious!
Snoopy is complete! Decided to have him lying on the doghouse with Woodstock on top as when I think of Snoopy, this is what I think of. But I made the extra pieces for the other positions you can set them up in
Episode 1 complete Bag 1 complete ☺️
My partner freaked me out while I was driving about 10 years ago, so I stopped driving. Just finished a driving lesson to start building my confidence up again
As much as I am enjoying lying in bed listening to the rain, it would be much nicer to still be asleep. Of course because I can now “sleep in” a bit, I keep waking ridiculously early
My feeling nice and rested from my first day off has gone out the window. The 8yo is high energy and not listening this evening. How his shoes didn’t hit me when he threw them, I have no idea…
Absolutely recommend watching this. Definitely puts a smile on your face
For today’s antidote to the horrors, I recommend watching gold-medal-winning Eliza McCartney addressing the NZ commonwealth games team in te reo Māori www.instagram.com/reel/Dbhr2mR...
No cheating post your lock screen. The 8yo with the first kid he ever made friends with ❤️

Even if we could believe him that he can’t do this over the phone, he also says… “"This is him talking in his New Zealand First capacity," Luxon said.” Ah no, it was said in the house, where he is a government minister. You decided to make him a government minister. Grow a freaking back bone?!
Could this useless prick be any more of a useless prick? On the road FFS. You telling me the PM doesn’t have his Foreign Minister on speed dial? Absolutely lowest effort bullshit from our premiere low-effort bullshitter. www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...
It felt so weird dropping the 8yo to school and not continuing into work! I am looking forward to my day of lego building and watching Friends
This! One thing with meltdowns, the person can’t control it. And in my experience with the 8yo, using force just makes it worse. You have to remain calm at all times. Try and get them to copy you. If you get angry back and use force, that’s what they will do too.
I remember when we were 11 and we had these two (clearly) neurodivergent boys in our class who were prone to meltdowns and who were *huge* for our age. The majority of our teachers would have not known how to use ‘reasonable force’ to restrain them. Everyone involved could have been seriously hurt
Oh this is absolutely terrible. Neurodivergent kids are going to be even further excluded… If this policy was in place before the 8yo was diagnosed (which the system wouldn’t do until he was 6), he would’ve been stood down multiple times in his first couple of years at school. 1/n
Act to give schools ‘reasonable force’ powers to remove students, $3000 fines for parents
Fines for parents would start at $300 but could go as high as $3000.

*sigh* glad to know this person thinks of me as old. Given how much covid fucked me over, even after having the vaccine, when I was in my mid 30s, I’d hate to think what it would’ve done to me if we didn’t lockdown
English and American people should be banned from discussing this subject until they understand how communicable diseases spread, and since they have apparently never worked it out in the last six years I feel comfortable banning them from the chat indefinitely
We budget about 5k a year for the 8yo. It pays for school (surprise it isn’t free like they want you to believe), uniform, holiday programmes (we both need to work to live). B4 starting school we needed to budget more for daycare. This budget excludes food, housing, other clothes & his activities😐
It takes an 81 year old to think that 5k a year for 3 years will incentivise women to have a baby. Somebody old enough to remember the modest family benefit in very different times.
Why yes, yes I do. Plus, it’s always the male politicians telling us to have more babies… easy enough for them to say it 😐
Does anyone else get filled with HATE towards any politician saying "have more babies"? Just that on its own is so rage fuelling... But it's SO MUCH WORSE when it's coupled with removing/cutting public services & benefits, anti-immigration, destroying economy, & increased poverty. Like FUCK OFF!!!!!
Boy am I glad the only reason people don't have more kids these days is a lack of direct Government payment instead of depressed wages, poor working conditions, high prices of everything and a housing affordability crisis.
The response from the union is exactly what is happening. People kept asking me how I was feeling about leaving National Library. Sure, I was sad, but also knew I was leaving at the right time with everything that’s been happening. Morale is the lowest I have ever seen it there. 1/n

8yo: I wish I couldn’t listen Me: why? 8yo: so I could do sign language Me: you don’t have to not hear to learn sign language 8yo: really?! And now we’ve done the alphabet together
I was having an afternoon nap… the 8yo woke me up by bouncing the bed… it was an unpleasant way to be woken 😐
It’s been an emotional day today. After nearly 14 years I had my last day before starting a new job in another library. I did well not to cry until I read the lovely messages in my cards ❤️
