A newbie hobbyist game dev from Denmark. Currently working on a simple shooter game using mainly open-source tools like Godot, Blender and Audacity. Main genre interests are shooters, strategy and puzzle games.

Working on that grenade throwing logic for my enemy NPC's again today. The logic of how and when I trigger it needs a little extra work so that not every NPC instantly starts throwing nades whenever the player seems stationary from it's perspective. Maybe an NPC manager for coordination? #GameDev

Spending some time today trying to get the enemies in my games to use animation and correct state machine logic for that grenade toss that I've been working on. Definitely the most demanding part of my finite state machine so far 😐 #GameDev

Grenade throw test. Enemy grenade throw now uses a custom implementation of a parabolic projectile trajectory. Ashamed to say I needed a little AI assistance for the physics equation derivations, but at least it works... 😅 #Gamedev

I want my enemy NPC's to throw grenades, but I need to make thrown grenades fly along predictable trajectories so that the enemies can throw at specific target positions and check if the trajectory contains obstacles. This is gonna be a pain, but at least it's educational 🤔 #Gamedev #Godot

Trying to work on getting enemies to react to guns being fired close by so they get alerted if the player starts shooting while their backs are turned. State machine for the enemies is quickly getting really messy though so might have to take time for some clean up soon.... 😅 #GameDev

Every day I have to remind myself that my first game SHOULD NOT be my dream game, but I keep getting carried away 😅 I went overboard with the fidelity of the models I used for my reload animations. Getting a whole game to that level would take years and I want to move a little faster. #GameDev

Starting to get to the point where I need to build some environments for my shooter game, so I'm familiarizing myself with 'greyboxing' for prototyping levels. Also worked a little on the player UI so that the amount of grenades held by the player is displayed and updated properly. #GameDev
