IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT As of January 1st 2026, John and I are **no longer** the owners of Complexly (the educational media company we started 15 years ago that makes Crash Course, Eons, SciShow, Study Hall, and a bunch of other shows.) We have been the sole owners for all that time...

I know plenty of people are mad about Switch 2 game prices rn, but it's simply following global inflation rates, I don't see the problem. Wage stagnation is the problem. People should be mad that their wages aren't increasing, I think people are pointing their energy at the wrong issue.

Just read My Hero Academia chapter 431 and wow it was beautifully written. Exploring how peace allows heroes to have lives outside of work, Bakugou's subtle struggle to move on, Deku and Ochako learning to want more for their lives.. "More" is an amazing epilogue to a series I've loved for so long.

27 years in, and One Piece has never once lost the sheer wonder of adventure. In fact, the world has only felt more and more beautiful over time. The straw hats' journey is truly beautiful.

One Piece spread panel showing the characters riding up a rainbow in a giant shipOne Piece double page spread of Elbaph, a giant village rendered in gorgeous detail with Luffy and Usopp's reactions at the side as they remember their promise to reach Elbaph all the way back in Little Garden.

Fun fact: If someone quotes a post of yours in a way that is unwelcome (as is commonplace on Twitter/X) there is a tool to combat the unwanted attention. Simply click the three dot menu on the quote post & click "Detach quote". This removes your post from their quote post. Useful to know, do share!

A gentle reminder that if we miss the 1.5°C target (and we certainly will), the next target is 1.51°C and not 2°C. We need to keep fighting. Every tonne of CO₂ emitted makes the job of future CO₂ removal harder, and every 0.01°C of temperature increase makes the world more chaotic and dangerous.

Cover from The Economist from two years ago "Say goodbye to 1.5°C; why climate policy is off target". It has a graphic of the Earth with an apple on its head, and a arrow shot through the Earth.

My phone just auto corrected "trauma dumping" to "trauma dumpling," so I painted this in case anyone would like a visual of my mental state. How's everyone else doing?

A small watercolor painting of a horrified looking cartoon dumpling.

If tomorrow is good, then work to make it even better. But if, and this might be true for many right now, tomorrow sucks, then work to make it better than it otherwise would be. Don't give in to nihilism. Just because things are bad doesn't mean our actions are meaningless. Keep on keeping on!

Facing heavy anxiety rn and dozed off earlier. Got the sweetest dream ever where I was really happy surrounded by friends just hanging out but after a couple minutes I literally realised it was a dream BECAUSE I was so happy, and then forced myself awake.

Since we have video now, here's one of the extremely over-the-top attack animations from 1997's 侠客英雄传3! That 3D transition into the battle scene is also :chef's kiss:
