Why so serious? Today I surprised a group of young New Yorkers working at the CityArts Bronx mural project for the summer. Their task? Giving the Bronx's famous Joker Stairs a new chapter as the Shakespeare steps.

If your movie review doesn't go viral, shut down websites, and inspire wars across genders, academic subfields, and bot systems, it's a failure now.

it's always a treat to see the understudy. they're thrilled out of their mind and the audience is full of their friends and family cheering their brains out. it's a wonderful communal experience

Remembering the time I went to the Boy George musical Taboo and they announced that Boy George, who was in it, was out that day. The audience moaned. The show started, the great Raúl Esparza came out, looked at the crowd, and ad-libbed in character, "Oh shaddup, it's better when he's not in it." >
