According to my headcannon, Tolkein’s orcs were not only created by torture, but different tortures were done at different times, to different groups of elves. This produced different clans of orcs, which developed into goblins, uruks, common orcs, trolls, and lastly, the Rend #conlang #artlang

Rend is derived from Quenya. Tolkein wrote of a dialect called Hwendi, so I started with that qu to hw sound change and further mutated it to the “French/German R” (voiced uvular fricative). A full consonant shift law developed, partly influenced by Grimms Law, then a vowel shift also #conlang

Rend is a language I made, as basically a fanfic in Tolkien’s universe. My idea was that some orcs retained their language and some oral history, in a mangled form. Tolkien’s orc languages were meant to be as messed up as possible. In contrast, Rend is mainly just an alternate Sindarin #conlang

Envaloh nouns must be declined for number. Numbers are entirely contained in these suffixes. My son (5) made this language, btw. Zero to five: -(‘)og, -yog, -zog, -sk, -p, -m. Eidog= nobody; eidzog=a person. Several, few, many:-ohpa, -upohk, -ohka. Eidohpa: several people #conlang #artlang

Takad word order is Subject-Object-Verb. . A root or base word can often be used either as a noun or verb interchangeably. Adding the suffix-ni gives an adjective or adverb. For example, dekana (sight, eye, to see) can become dekanani (sighted, visual) #conlang

I created Takad language not by simply putting words from different languages together, like next to each other, but by fusing words together. Portmanteaus, frankenwords, if you will. If people’s brains latch on to familiar sound-meaning associations, they can learn faster, yeah? #conlang #auxlang
