Appreciate I did a pretty rubbish job of updating on @lmcwhin.bsky.social and I’s Svalbard WAVE project adventure to survey marine mammals in the Arctic with HX! But I’ll make up for it with some snaps 📷 🐻❄️ 🐋 🦭 #MarMamm #Whale #Walrus #Arctic #Polarbear #Svalbard @heriotwattuni.bsky.social
Starting my journey north towards the Arctic as part of the WAVE project (www.wave-arcticwhales.com) in a slightly crazy @edinburghairport.bsky.social (is half of Scotland here today?! 😂) attempting to teach myself to like matcha… 🍵 🍓 ✈️ Stay tuned for Arctic content! 🐻❄️ 🐋 🦭 #Marmam #MarineMammal
Excited to announce I am starting as an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Life and Earth Sciences at @heriotwattuni.bsky.social! If you’re interested in collaborating on projects focusing on underwater noise impacts to marine mammals get in touch! 🔉🐳🐋🦭🦑🧪

Love that I got ready for an 8 am meeting on a Monday morning only to be forgotten and not let into the meeting… 🤦♀️😅😴☕️

Well this is unfortunate Someone in Iceland just issued new whaling permits, while the negotiations to form a new coalition government - that is likely to be anti-whaling - continue. More fin whales to be hunted - through to 2029 🐳🌍🦑
Iceland issues permits allowing whale hunting until 2029
The permits allow for annual catches of 209 fin whales and 217 mike whales.

It’s funny to think that past Charlotte (who was doing her undergrad thesis at @uofglasgow.bsky.social in 2014) would probably never have expected a very similar topic was going to become her literal job many years later… 😂🚢🔊🐬 #MarineMammals #MarMam #MarineLife 🐋🦭🦑🧪
