This is a program for teenagers with serious disabilities who are finishing high school and transitioning to their next steps in life. Trump just axed it, effective immediately, in the middle of the night, with no notice.

As a journalist who covers extremism at the local level, I think it’s a mistake to view Trump’s Napoleonic statement as solely about presidential power. Consider if it’s interpreted as a wink and a nod for any extremist to act outside the law to “save” the country as they see fit

My (adoptive) dad had FTD. As the only sibling who lived in the same state, care decisions fell mostly on my brother. This is a great article with a lot of hope for future treatments.

Georgia could have just expanded Medicaid to cover most of its low-income population. Instead it instituted a strict work requirement, and the program has enrolled less than 6,000 people for a cost of $58 million. www.thenation.com/article/soci...

This is so disappointing. Policies like this add stress to a group that is already stigmatized. We (humans) need to do better and stop caving to transphobia and hate.
