Intraspecific Chemodiversity of Plants - Research Unit

@chemodiversity.bsky.social

🌱🐛 Research Unit FOR 3000 working on “Ecology and Evolution of Intraspecific #Chemodiversity of Plants", funded by ‪@dfg.de‬ 👩‍🔬 👨‍🔬22 researchers in 9 labs across Germany 🖥️ www.uni-bielefeld.de/chemodiversity

Our review, co-led by @mhanusch.bsky.social, @thomasdussarrat.bsky.social&@robinheinennl.bsky.social, is now out in Nature Ecology & Evolution 🌿📚 We dive into the concept of chemodiversity and discuss how it may influence ecological functions across landscapes 🌍🧪 Excited to finally share this work!

An exciting day today. Our work, co-led by @mhanusch.bsky.social and @thomasdussarrat.bsky.social was published in Nature Ecology & Evolution. In this review, we explore the concept of chemodiversity and what role it could play for ecological functions at landscape-level. doi.org/10.1038/s415...

“How can we transfer our knowledge on natural #chemodiversity to crop plants?” was the topic of our workshop in Großbeeren last week. We are proud of our Young Investigators who presented their research. Especial big thanks to our guest speakers for their great talks and wonderful discussions!

How can we #transfer our knowledge on #chemodiversity to agriculture? That was the theme at our @chemodiversity.bsky.social workshop last week at @igzleibniz.bsky.social It was a marvellous workshop with excellent talks from invited speakers and our #young #investigators alike!👍💪

Another work in our facility #15 #PlantScience, Today we started an experiment on drought & herbivory interactions on #metabolic diversity & plasticity in poplar as part of @chemodiversity.bsky.social. @sunsicker.bsky.social @rrjunker.bsky.social @nmvandam.bsky.social @robinheinennl.bsky.social

Another work in our facilities #14 #PlantScience Phenotyping of drought stress of oat genotypes from @nadiakamal.bsky.social. A pre-testing or lines before starting a large #HighThroughputPhenotying (HTP) experiment on a big platform, we offer within #DPPN (dppn.plant-phenotyping-network.de).

#PlantScience, plants on a crane: we just started the 2nd chemotypic plasticity & diversity experiment within @chemodiversity.bsky.social with Solanum dulcemara testing drought stress & herbivory with @nmvandam.bsky.social, @rrjunker.bsky.social, @sunsicker.bsky.social, @chemecolcm.bsky.social

#PlantScience today we started with #VOCs sampling in our joint @chemodiversity.bsky.social experiment on chemotypic plasticity & diversity in tansy under drought stress & herbivory….next days will be full of sampling for #metabolomics, #transcriptomics & #microbiome analyses.

Tansy is plants covered with closed roasting bags containing passive sampler for trapping volatile organic compounds.
