What's your summer plan? I often get this question & my reply can't be more banal — I teach. And this teaching comes in the form of traveling, not for a week or 2 but a whole month. That's what the #GlobalExperience course at #NUSCollege is abt. Immersive, fun. Can be tiring but def rewarding.

GEx MD started testing how photovoice works in a field course in 2024. Each year we seek to further refine it. From a community library in Tra Vinh to border town Chau Doc & now Saigon. Excited to have an opportunity to bring it to RMIT Vietnam for GEx MD26, extending our impact beyond NUS College.

A really fruitful trip to Nanning and Guangxi University — along with Sin Yee and Rin — to reunite with research collaborators, and where we get to meet a team of postgraduate students ever so eager to support all aspects of our trip.

Speaking of Vietnam, fresh out of the press is a piece I worked on with ​Hao Phuong Phan​ about the BRI creating new opportunities at the Sino-Viet border regions, which are accelerating educational ties and student mobilities that, in turn, recalibrate Vietnam's axis of educational diplomacy.

🌱First post! Teaching in Impact Experience at NUS College meant that I got to work closely with teams of students directing and canvassing projects that seek to benefit/contribute to local communities across Vietnam.
