Watch the Knight walk out alive. Leaping Strike, armed and fired: one capture, one counter blocked, one Knight left standing. This is what the clash arena feels like. #onlinechess #chesspuzzle #ChessVS
Your Knight learns to survive. This is a Battle Card. Arm LEAPING STRIKE before your move and your Knight captures — and lives. Any counterattack that should defeat it? Blocked. One turn of immunity. Cards don't replace chess skill. They ask for more of it. #chessvariants #cardgame #ChessVS
Two pieces never run dry. The King and the Pawn don't have the typical ATK stat. They have 1∞. They deal exactly 1 ATK, every time, forever — and a finishing blow costs them nothing. The humblest pieces in chess are the most reliable soldiers in ChessVS. #chess
Know your Queen: 5 Attack. 5 Shield. The most dangerous piece on the board — and the most valuable to fall in battle. Every point of ATK she wields is gone until the game ends. Use that budget like a precision tool, not a hammer. #chess
Getting ready to fire up one of my fav #chess sets. Don't worry, your invite can come sooner than you think if you'd like to play 😏
The finishing blow is free. A wounded piece falls to ANY attack — and a King or Pawn capturing that #chess piece takes zero counter damage. Yes: your King is an executioner. Use him like one.
One of my fav pastimes when I'm not playing #chess ...LEGOS 🧱! Been working on this Sherlock Holmes set for a little while now, on bag 8 of 10
Both survive. Barely. In today's lesson - Mutual Wound - a Pawn probes a Pawn: each deals exactly 1 ⚔️ ATK, both hit 0🛡️SHLD. A piece at 0🛡 falls to defeat at the very next attack. The board fills with walking wounded and any one of them can be a target...or a trap. Stay alert, stay alive.
Six years ago I asked myself a question on my couch: what if the pieces could fight back? Today I put my face on the site. Meet the human behind the knight. chessvs.club/behind-the-scenes #chess

Neither piece moves. Both are scarred. In this Traded Probe, a Bishop attacks a Rook. The move bounces back. But every wound sticks. The Bishop has no Shield left and is one hit away from defeat. But the Rook is not too far behind, and the whole board sees it. Probes are how you soften a fortress.
New website updates underway: redesigning the footer today so all nine of our social channels can now live in one grid (mobile view👇) Next up: recapturing the gameplay clips for the homepage because I made some in-game changes gave the color palette a little more life.
Attack at your own risk. In normal chess, if a Pawn attacks your Queen, she's cooked. But in ChessVS, pieces carry Attack/Shield Points and the defender fights back, so plan for it. A Pawn deals exactly 1 ATK ⚔️. But a Queen with 5 SHLD🛡️ absorbs it and her counterattack defeats the Pawn! #chess
Alright my chess heads, Battle School is now in session... Every capture in ChessVS goes down as a battle — your ⚔ against their 🛡, both sides striking at once. Six outcomes. No dice. Just the math, mathing. chessvs.club #chess Take a swipe through the whole rulebook →
The board remembers everything. This is a battle report. Pawn attacks Queen. The Queen survives — and the Pawn does not. Every piece in ChessVS carries Attack and Shield. When you capture, they strike back. Coming next: all six ways a battle can end. Week 2 is battle school · chessvs.club #chess
It looks like chess. It isn't finished being chess. A ChessVS board at rest is quiet — familiar squares, familiar pieces. The difference doesn't show until the first battle. Then the board starts keeping score. Tomorrow: what the board remembers. Follow to see it wake up.
Day 05. Your first move happens before the first move. In ChessVS you don't make an account — you join a club. Identity first. The rest follows. (and yes: the rivalry between these two is the entire point) #chess
The Codewright Collective does not fight the board — it rewrites it. Etheryst. Every move is programmable. Every piece carries potential. The board is not a battlefield, but an exercise in execution. Playstyle: Calculated combinations. Optionality over material. Choose up · chessvs.club #chess
In the beginning, there was the block. Meet Bitcoinia - the first of the two founding clubs. They don't rush. They don't speculate. They build, brick by brick, until the position is unassailable. Playstyle: aggressive attrition. Strongest when fighting from behind. Which side calls to you? #chess
Chess Memory #256: So it's fall 2019. My first trip to New Orleans. I'm walking through the French Market, checking the vendors, minding my own business. When then lo and behold, I hear call me, from across eight rows of shops, THE most. beautiful. jade chess set I ever seen in my life.... Random. 🤷🏽♂️
The question that started everything Chess is perfect. That's the problem — every capture is already decided before it happens. We kept asking: what would the board look like if taking a piece meant risking yours? Thirty days from now I want show exactly where that question led. #chess
Day one. Every capture is a battle. For 1,500 years, a capture in chess has been a formality — you touch the square, the piece is gone. We asked one question: what if the pieces could fight back? This is ChessVS. This is the documentary. It starts now. Follow along · chessvs.club
What would chess look like if your wins left a mark? That question stuck with me for six years. My answer: battle cards tied to the six pieces that grow as you play — earned at the board, never bought. I’m finally building it, and it’s live in early form.
