/ i need to infodump about Aspis, its a medical issue
// I need to stop making Aspis so dorky and remember that they’re supposed to be coping with 2700 years of extreme trauma and should NOT be so open with people
/ 4 hours later they’re covered in their own blood and spider blood but god damn did they find a cool rock. Oh Aspis you autistic loser
You shouldn’t worry too much. I can’t die. Not in traditional ways. I might lose a limb or two, but it’ll come back in a month. The exploration is worth it to me.
You will need it — I do not speak with an urgency without reason. I patrol this forest as captain of the Elven Guard. You speak without wisdom. I will not send after you and throw my guards at risk for your rocks.
/ im getting heat sickness again i hate having POTS
… I have a sword if I really need it. I can smell where I am. Very well, actually. My sense of smell is probably more efficient than my eyesight at times.
These are not mindless animals whom form trust with an act of kindness. These are creatures whom hold intelligence and are corrupt with great evil..! To enter their nests for something so foolish is unspeakable. You can nary see a thing but pitch black.
It’ll be fine. Animals like me. Except the ones I eat, those ones don’t like me much. They have reasons, though. … I want to find rocks in the forest. Spiders or not.
These are not spiders to be befriended. Nor would they. If such a task could be performed so easily, travel through Mirkwood would not be as perilous. They have no care for friendship nor warmth. They exist to feed and are corrupt with darkness.
/ i got followed by like one lotr account then decided to follow a bunch and now im daydreaming The Hobbit AU of Aspis again
Swaddling itself in blankets for ultimate coziness
Looks like bronze, and the sound their claws make against the strings does seem equally metallic. “No, just… ones with strings. See I’ve found a way to play without breaking the strings. But when they need replaced, it takes much more patience. Sometimes I don’t think I have patience.”
"Eh?" Pippin stutters, then glances down to their claws. He nods knowingly. "Ah... yes, I suppose that would be an issue. Well! D'you have any other instruments?"
Busying themself with a chunk of marble. Chisels clicking against the surface. Making… something. Most likely a bird. Seems to be their favorite thing to make.
/ i did not sleep well which means I should draw Aspis or something
/ I get to listen to Aspis’ Tolkien au playlist now woah…
Small nods of their head. “That would be appreciated. It’s my own fault for choosing an instrument with this many strings.” They are at least halfway through the process, minus some extra tuning or tightening. “My claws aren’t meant for such delicate things.”
“Well. You don’t have to promise me anythin’. I would jus’ offer to keep it steady for you, that’s all.”
“No, I almost—” Squinting at the harp like that’s going to make this easier at all. “… usually I’m better at this, I promise.”
D’you need help there?
Trying to string up their harp. Getting frustrated. So, so many strings.
