Okay I said I was done BUT. I just wanted to include a special "fuck you" to the Into the Woods movie adaptation. They wanted to emulate the feeling of a stage play and as a result we got a visually boring, flat movie that added nothing to the source material. What a missed opportunity.
Chippolyta@chippolyta.bsky.social · 2y agoI saw the musical live back in the day, and I remember feeling underwhelmed by the experience - the music is so beautiful and bombastic and there's only so much you can do if you're performing it on a stage 20 feet away from the audience.
Holy shit the wicked movie is so goooooood. 😭♥️ I listened to the soundtrack on repeat for about 2 years in highschool and I'm so glad they did it justice that's so rare for musical adaptations.
