Chiva is a charity in the UK and Ireland, enhancing the health and social wellbeing of children and young people growing up living with HIV.

We're pleased to announce that applications have now opened for young people to join the Chiva Youth Committee (CYC) - a vibrant, creative group of young people who help shape Chiva’s work. Young people aged 13–17 living with perinatally acquired HIV are eligible to apply at: www.chiva.org.uk/cyc

Don't just take our word for it. This is what some of the previous Blueprint participants have told us about the benefits of taking part in the programme. "The Zoom sessions have improved my mental health physically and mentally by gaining more confidence within myself.”

We're so proud of the young person from the Chiva Youth Committee who spoke at the NAZ Project London #ZeroHIVStigmaDay event yesterday. Thank you NAZ for providing this platform for a young person to share their experience of growing up with HIV and congratulations on a successful event.

This #VolunteersWeek, a huge thank you to all our volunteers, from the young people who help shape our work to our Steering Group, Trustees, and event volunteers. Your time, ideas, and energy help Chiva connect with young people living with HIV and the professionals who support them. 💛

Chiva colleagues from across the UK met in Birmingham this week to reflect, plan ahead, and shape our 2027–2029 strategy. We focused on what matters most in supporting young people living with HIV as they grow into adulthood, and came away with lots of ideas to take forward with our Trustees.

Last week, 22 young people travelled to Sheffield for our Art Is Key project, reflecting on their journeys with HIV, then and no, and what it’s like living with HIV. Through song writing and drama they brought their stories to life, ending in a final sharing.
