Went to the ICA to see Cate Le Bon last night. She was ace, very little chat between songs but a band that were really on the money and a pretty immersive experience all told #chopsgigs #catelebon
It’s slim pickings but The Cock Tavern ticks most of those boxes. Not super cosy & no food but it has decent beer and no TV/loud music.

Last year I got in a comments row about what the Mercury Prize was supposed to be about. To my mind it shone a light on the less well known or respected artists that traditionally weren’t represented at the major awards. This list is even worse than last year’s.

Bill Odie has passed away. I loved that fella as a kid. He was my favourite Goodie, seemed to have a joy for making mischief and subsequently got me into bird watching and nature preservation.
Went for a lovely lunch in London with pals yesterday. The plan had been that an early start would have seen us all home relatively early. Going for one last beer probably didn’t help but I fell asleep on my train home, ended up back at Waterloo & didn’t actually make it home until gone midnight.
