This is the most beautiful Mistle Thrush song I have ever heard! What made it even more magical was the fact that it was gracing a new collaborative nature project in Nechells. It’s worth taking 26 seconds just to heal the mind and enjoy the wonder of Brum’s birdsong 😎👌 @bosfonline.bsky.social
An early start and long shift to clear, set up and monitor feeding stations @bibbeyswildfarms.bsky.social was rewarded with some quality birding: Jack Snipe 90+ Stock Dove Peregrine 3 Stonechat 14 Crossbill SW ➡️ Uffmoor Wood 10+ Lesser Redpoll Now 45+ Yellowhammer! 12+ Reed Bunting

Great to return to @bibbeyswildfarms.bsky.social today after a leg injury Finch numbers have predictably fallen after fireworks/storms but Yellowhammer are building and great to record 6 Reed Bunting. Stonechat are wintering again at a new site but no sign of XC or BZ yet. Also Peregrine noted.

A win for nature-friendly farmers! 🎉 The Govt has confirmed 1-year extensions to Countryside Stewardship Mid-Tier agreements - providing certainty for those delivering for food, nature & climate. 👉 “This was a key ask from NFFN, and it’s a strong signal,” says our CEO @linesmartin.bsky.social. #nffn
This morning’s gratitude was based on a sample of 3 bird species populations that are increasing on Brum’s urban fringe as a result of Countryside Stewardship that is being withdrawn on 31st December without a replacement! Also Linnet, Skylark, Yellowhammer… www.linkedin.com/posts/chris-...
