And now for something completely different: Two red squirrels were engaging in a spirited barking battle this morning, probably over some sunflower seeds they’ve been stealing from the bird feeder. I wonder what they were saying? Squirrel trash talk?

Reflecting on a photo I took in 1994 of the Reflecting Pool in Washington DC. The gray color of the pool’s bottom allowed for a crisp reflection. Painting the bottom blue will ruin that effect. They’ll have to call it the “it looks like a big hotel swimming pool” now.

These blue bubbles in my Dawn dishwashing liquid are mesmerizing. Am I the only one that finds this relaxing? Sorry for the slight wobble in the video, it’s hard sometimes to hold the phone still when recording in macro.

It felt like an earthquake but it was really a sonic boom FROM A METEOR! Felt all around northeast Ohio. The National Weather Service detected it on the GOES satellite lightning tracker. Note the green flash on this short video. Weird!
