“Field office” trip yesterday with the paleo team surveying for fossils. Just found some lignite(wood) and a pinecone but plenty of wildlife including a Box Turtle and American Eel.

Very thankful my “grail species” to keep was simple. Marbled Salamander. My favorite amphibian and one of my all time favorite animals.
As the self proclaimed @aba.org dinosaur guy, after listening to the recent live hot takes podcast episode I AGREE there is no real reason to refer to birds as dinosaurs all the time. That’s like calling humans primates all the time.
Finally watching The GOAT with my daughter. This movie is so clever with the animal Easter eggs. They just said 2 cloaca jokes so far.
