My most niche complaint lately is that it’s common parlance in competitive Pokémon to say a mon “lives” an attack instead of “survives” (I.e. charizard can live a rock slide before fainting)

Today is the birthday of cartoonist Jackie Ormes (Aug. 1, 1911-Dec. 26, 1985), the first Black woman to create a newspaper comic strip that was read nationally in the US. She created Torchy Brown in Dixie to Harlem, Torchy in Heartbeats & Patty-Jo ‘n’ Ginger. Patty Jo became a toy doll.

i also can't imagine spx or mice monitoring your social media posts and discouraging tabling artists from talking about rushing workor 'crunching' on their comic because it somehow cheapens the product or reflects poorly on the fair. that is not normal. that is weird surveillance/cop behavior.

Steel/Ground jackhammer Pokémon with a lotta speed, Skill Link and a signature move that hits for double damage through Protect and screens Game Freak hit my line

BIG thank you to everyone!!! this shit means so much cause it’s my community backing me. The book almost merc’d me too, I put everything into this project and basically left nothing. It feels affirming as fuck to have this recognition. no gonna lie.

I see people talk about how we’ll see AI art in the future, referencing this Eno quote and I disagree. The failures Eno mentions don’t belong to the medium as much as the prompters and their expectations of the machine itself.
