I tried to like paper.design, but I’m getting better design results working code-first. I design in HTML/CSS with the browser’s layout engine, then import the result into Figma as editable layers. Better composition and control, with Figma still there for collaboration and iteration.

Ran a repo-level local AI eval with Qwen3.8 27B + Gemma 4 31B in LM Studio on my old MBP M1 Max. Gemma drafted the fix, Qwen reviewed it, then Gemma adjudicated. The collaboration improved the patch, but builds and tests remain the final gate. Promising privacy-first workflow.
