Surprised myself with how much of my french I recall as I read Balzac in the 1834 original. Every word and sentence is understood fully, save the occasional technical jargon of architecture, but which my Kobo’s dictionary feature quickly remedies. Last night I likewise read Molière.

There is something in solo ttrpg in mysteries that mirrors the preference between pantsing and plotting. When you want to act as the character and not know how the mystery will unfold, you want pantsing. When the mystery is clear and resolved in your head but you act as though the character does
