Sort of good but mostly not. They still want to close 3 languages completely. And teaching-only contracts at basic starting salary grade 6, no research-led teaching, no culture/hist/lit modules on lang degrees. No confirmation on how many T&R in MLANG to be saved. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Very excited that this New Year is starting with the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion guidelines for PGR Supervision resource that I recently created being shared by the Directors of PGR across the Schools of the University, and within the Inclusive Education Project team as well.

Studying Francophone identities with students this year, focusing on stories from New Caledonia, quebecois music, & Côte d'Ivoire art. 2 students gave a presentation on Ivoirian artist Aboudia, & interviewed him on Instagram for the presentation! I don't know whether to be more impressed or jealous!

4-year-old son asked me last night why I didn't pick him up sooner from after-school club. I said because I'd needed to finish my work & didn't want to get in trouble. His solution?: "Mum, tell your boss there's a giant spider on their head, & whilst they're looking for it, sneak out the door!" 🤣🥰
