The Transformers was my favorite show as a kid, largely due to Peter Cullen’s portrayal of Optimus Prime. He gave the character the gravitas of a respected leader and a heart that protected the freedom of all sentient beings. He taught us that good is always worth fighting for, no matter the odds.

Dolly Parton was the best of us. Her songs are timeless, guitar playing stellar, and acting fantastic. It was always a joy to see her on a talk show because you knew you were going to get fun stories of her amazing life and career. May the love she put into the world continue to radiate through us 💙

I mistakenly read Facebook comments under posts about Trump and RFK Jr’s “Gold Standard Childhood Vaccine Recommendations” EO signing. I started typing replies to the conspiracy theories and then realized people posting that are too far gone to jeopardize my mental health. Vaccines cause adults.

The Perseid meteor shower peaks this Wednesday, August 12-13 between midnight and 6am. It’s a new moon, too, so viewing should be great! Find the darkest place you can and enjoy about 50 “shooting stars” an hour! Look towards the constellation Perseus. This can help, which I use.

As soon as I heard Maine Sen. Susan Collins was a “no” on Todd Blanche as AG, I knew he’d be confirmed. Throughout her career she’s been able to have faux-independent positions as long as the GOP can still do what it wants. But Collins’ days are numbered; Troy Jackson will win this November!

Dr. Fauci invoking his 5th Amendment rights and not answering questions is the smartest thing he could do. Republicans don’t want answers, they want to grandstand and spread medical misinformation. Dr. Fauci is a hero and history will remember him as such.

There are bigger issues at play but I will absolutely judge you by how you treat your pets. Remy & Emmet are part of our family and I would never yell at them like this. If this is how you treat your dog in front of a Time reporter in the middle of a US Senate campaign, I believe everything else.

The goal of the Affordable Care Act was to cap premiums at around 11% of gross income. This year, my plan is already 16% and I’m one of the lucky ones that can afford it. This will take away healthcare from millions more people.
