I don't get posts like this. Almost like they're justifying it to themselves. For me there's no justification for using X / Twitter because of who the owner is. "I want to have fun internet conversations" shouldn't outweigh Elon Musk owning the platform where you're doing it.

i think, end of the day, the real problem with Bluesky is that most of its users are here *because* they want to be in a bubble. and they can tell themselves that it’s just about not being around Nazis it supporting Musk, and that’s part of it, but also there’s a palpable desire to be ensconced.

Guys this is by far the scariest thing happening. Trump is funding leaders of a private army of with taxpayer money. It's a turning point in history. Can't turn back from this one. It should be a pitchforks out moment. Stop all government. Block trains. Barricade doors. Do not let it happen.

REUTERS: “Enrique Tarrio, Proud Boys leader sentenced ‌to 22 years for seditious conspiracy over the January 6, 2021 riot, said he planned to get between $2 & $5 million.” We are so far off the cliff. 🇺🇸 www.reuters.com/legal/govern...

I'm seeing pretty non-technical people building software for use at work using AI. Cool that everybody is empowered to do stuff like this but really worried about security and broken processes. AI vibe coded software works great out of the gate, but somewhat cumbersome in the medium to long term.

Not exactly a great sign that the vibe coding experts at Claude have this many outages on their own platform. In the "old days" a SaaS with this many outages would've been toast.

Has Duolingo completely gone to shit for anybody else recently? Screens don't work, translations are wrong, and bugs drop my progress repeatedly. Today I can't finish any lessons because all the buttons disappear randomly.

This "ebikes are getting out of hand" stupidity is like reefer madness. I have some small quibbles with scooters because they accelerate way too fast, but ebikes none at all, and most people on escooters are just calmly going from A to B, but aren't in a 2k lb death machine. Still a win.
