On this day in 1775, the US Postal Service was established. It’s been serving communities big and small ever since. The small shack behind the people here was Stillwater’s post office around the turn of the 20th century!

On this day in 1896, a post office opened on Mike and Eliza Fallon’s ranch. This post office is a major reason the City of Fallon has its name, even though the Fallons themselves were not here long.
It’s National Lemon Day, and we’re kiiinda stretching the definition, but wanted to show off this cool piece from our collection. It’s lemon flitter bronze powder, which is used for gilding.

On this day in 1935, the worlds first parking meter was installed in Oklahoma City. For a few decades in the mid-century, we too had parking meters, and now you can see one on display just outside our new 1950s office exhibit!
