Back from vacation and commuting to the office for the first time in a week; HBLR to Tonnelle Ave is 6 minutes early and is on the West Side tracks when it stopped at Garfield. We all ran in the rain to make it. No notifications in the platform, of course. #njtransit 😡😩

We tackled the inside of the greenhouse today: pea gravel in between the pavers; used water jugs as my cold frames this winter—they’re on a shelf I picked up from the street; a raised bed the same color blue as the potting table is coming next #jerseycitygardens #ciaheartsgardening #urbangarden

It took a lot of time and patience in between heat waves, unhealthy air due to the wildfires, and rainstorms but the latest addition to our backyard is finally assembled and standing! #jerseycitygardens #ciaheartsgardening #urbangarden #nativeplants

A greenhouse and a terraced backyard with native plants

I love the Amtrak quiet car. I love the old folks who insist on other passengers to be QUIET while in the quiet car.

Book no.16 for 2026 💙📚 Bluesky folks told me about this one: “One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This” by Omar El Akkad. Not a Cape Cod beach read, per se, but a very important book nonetheless. #ciaheartsbooks

We carved out a little plot here on Cape Cod and planted a few seeds last month to see if any will grow without regular maintenance. The tomatoes grew! Except that I didn’t plant any tomato seeds LOLZ #ciaheartscapecod

Small plot of soil with compost and various seeds 4 tomatoes that grew out of seeds from the compost

#NYCFC thoughts now that we are back: 1. Weird to see James Sands back, but awesome 2. Malachi is unrecognizable without his locks, but still awesome 3. I hope Matt Freese is not feeling bad about that WC mistake anymore 4. A Crew, but I wish people saw more of Arfsten during WC #ciaheartsfutbol
