It really sucks to have a properly configured email server, running on your own domain — thanks, Cloudron — only to have Google, Microsoft, and the other giants systematically dump your messages into spam anyway. And yet I now find myself sending important emails twice, or using another provider…

Someone has cornered the market in OpenRouter, as being sole provider for Qwen 3.8 27B openrouter.ai/qwen/qwen3.8... Input: $0.45 Output: $3.20 If I understood this correctly, this should be small model and cheap, but that being only provider, they are printing money?

The new Qwen 3.7 27B, running as a 17GB GGUF in LM Studio on my M5 Max MacBook Pro, just drew me the best pelican riding a bicycle I've seen from any model that runs on my laptop

The pelican has the right shaped beak. The red bicycle has the correct shape of frame. The pelican's wing reaches the handlebars. It has legs on both side of the bicycle. There is a pleasing set of clouds, birds, sun, grass and shadow on the image, plus motion lines behind but not in front of the bird.

Trying out SolidJS 2, OpenCode. Looks like first hurdle. OpenCode can't understand how to send interactive commands to solidjs2's template tool. I thought interactive terminal use is solved problem, even VSCode's harness has it!

So cool that all major social media platforms converged on video player UI that lags, has half-broken imprecise seeking, does literally nothing when you hit play half of the time, forgets autoplay settings, and occasionally just shows a different video because algorithms. Such unprecedented unity

If LLMs did nothing else for science than what they have been doing in math - combining diverse ideas across subfields in novel ways - it would still be revolutionary. Before LLMs, science was stalling under the burden of knowledge, there is too much to absorb & work was ossifying as a result.

I have on occasion asked things about images from ChatGPT, what it struggles is measuring distance of objects. In otherwords, spatial understanding which happens in humans in Parietal lobe. One would think that is rather easy to train, but they haven't yet gotten to it? #AI #OpenAI

It's insane how wide rift there is between how different devs work right now - there are people using Claude/Codex regularly to varying degrees, there are people I follow who still swear they'll never willingly use these, meanwhile some are building custom harnesses and loop architectures and shit…

Every time I feel like I somewhat caught up with how things are done these days, it turns out that actually since June this is all completely outdated and everyone is five layers above me already…

Spotify's UI to control agentic development is one of those weird things about future. Imagine jumping from company to another company, and they have whole new way to interact with code? I get it, vibing this kind of UIs is fun, but they brag 1300+ Spotify devs already use it! xirp.spotify.com

Realme's (GT 8 Pro) latest update broke charging limit setting. I used to set it to 90%, and now it always charges to 100% regardless of the setting. Android ecosystem is such a crap.

Why is Google Gemini kind of useless? Only time I really want it to work is when I drive a car. "Start driving directions to airport, add detour to gas station X, then start playing podcast X." Should be simple to do, I probably could slop that togehter if I had KDE/PC desktop mounted to car.
