The weirdest thing about Evil Dead Burn is I heard it was the most mean spirited and this partly true but it actually tries to be funnier than the 2013 Evil Dead. It just doesn't really land.

Just experienced the high of seeing that Cobrah is supporting Tove Lo and then the crushing low of finding out that it's only for one show in the states. The actual support act seems fun tbf, Rose Gray. But damn, thought I was going to see Feminine Energy live there for a moment.

I do think Evil Dead films post Rise have a tricky task of doing the deadites better. Ellie is the queen.

There's a great moment in this where a deadite smashes the final girl's head into a mirror and then we sort of bounce back out from the mirror with a reverse angle, it's a cool, nasty and imaginative little moment . A few edits/camera work moments that do elevate everything. Technically very good.

It's definitely a little overlong but my biggest issue is this perhaps the least interesting the deadites have felt! Neat camerawork and nastiness keep it engaging but overall 3/5 stars. 🎥 #Filmsky
It reminded me of Evil Dead (2013) in that it has a very obvious theme running through it. I think though Evil Dead did it better, partly in how it got depicted (the damage done to arms is no coincidence) but also that it wasn't "the" driving factor for the deadites. They use it against (1/2)

I am rewatching Surviving the Game and that Busey monologue is so good. An extremely compelling bit of acting.
Kirsten Dunst is so damn good in this. Michelle Williams is fantastic as well but Dunst's performance is note perfect. Otherwise this is mostly fine, decent gags but it's mostly worth watching for Dunst.
