The summary of the second chapter, “Day 2”, of my Rusty Lake fanfiction “Maid of the Lake” which reads: The notion of her being the first person he’d ever talked to strangely delighted her, even if the specific content he’d said wasn’t for the faint of heart. It meant that he trusted her first and foremost, didn’t it? Or at least enough to confide in her with the things that distressed him? His voice… soft-spoken and shy, light and soothing like the water by the lake. It made her wonder if he could’ve been a singer in another life.

Summary of my Rusty Lake fanfiction “Maid of the Lake” which reads: Upon hearing the news that they’d hired a new servant, Kate had to pretend she was fine with it. That poor servant, how naive of them to choose the Vanderboom family. They must’ve applied after only seeing the pay, not even bother seeking out the wise words of the ones came before. Had no one told them about how servants kept disappearing in this household? Why else would she be here all alone, exhausting herself with chores while the master locked himself in his room doing who-knows-what?
