Republicans kicked more than 8 million Americans off healthcare with their Big Ugly Bill. The American people deserve leadership that makes their lives better, not worse. I’m fighting hard to fix this broken system and protect your access to the quality, affordable healthcare you need.

Uninsured Patients Rise Sharply, Hospitals Report, Citing Obamacare Cuts

More people who lost coverage after congressional Republicans ended enhanced federal subsidies are now seeking care in emergency rooms and unable to pay bills.

I enjoyed attending the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers change of command ceremony. The Army Corps of Engineers delivers critical public and military engineering services. Thank you to Colonel Baker for your years of service to the San Gabriel Valley.

This week, I visited Vallarta Supermarkets in Azusa. This family-owned grocery store and carniceria brings authentic Mexican flavors to our community. It’s been a welcome addition to our neighborhood!

Today, I joined my Democratic colleagues to open an investigation into reports that the DoD failed to provide sufficient care for servicemembers injured by Iranian strikes. Our troops should never be sent into combat without a clear plan to care for them if they’re injured.

President Johnson signed Medicare and Medicaid into law 61 years ago. Now, thanks to Trump’s Big Ugly Bill, 17 million Americans are going to lose their healthcare coverage in the biggest cut to Medicaid in history. It’s shameful.

On July 30, 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed Medicare and Medicaid into law, expanding access to healthcare for millions of Americans. These programs are lifelines for our communities, and House Democrats are fighting to protect them.

Every military branch has a meticulous process that selects the most qualified officers for promotion. Now, Secretary Hegseth is adding an additional step to the promotion process that could justify the dismissal of qualified candidates, just because they don’t fit his demented vision of a warrior.

I led a letter to Republican leadership in support of our Dreamers. Republicans continue to block legislation that would protect DACA recipients and Dreamers and give them the stability to contribute to our communities. It’s time for them to finally do what’s right.

Today, we honor the historic passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act. I’m proud to champion everyone living with physical and mental disabilities in CA-31. I’ll always fight to protect your right to live in an accessible, inclusive, and just society.

A West Covina resident faced challenges accessing her Social Security survivor benefits back payment. She reached out to my office for support and my staff worked hard to help resolve the issue. If you live in CA-31 and need help with a federal agency, call my district office at 626-646-0369.

ICE is out of control. They’re putting the American people in danger and making our communities less safe. We need immediate accountability and reform to prevent these devastating deaths at the hands of lawless agents.

This week, the House passed a second bipartisan War Powers Resolution to stop Trump’s illegal war on Iran. The American people are fed up with this reckless and expensive war of choice, and Congress has heard their frustrations. It is time for this unlawful conflict to finally end.

At this week’s House Small Business Committee hearing, I voiced my concerns that Trump's tariffs are hurting small businesses. In a Small Business Majority survey, 88% of businesses reported that the cost of raw goods and materials has increased this year.

The American people are already struggling under the Big Ugly Bill’s harmful cuts. Now, House Republicans want to use more of your tax dollars to bankroll Trump’s illegal war in Iran. All while your gas and grocery costs continue to rise. I oppose this America last budget.

Republican leadership again chose to poison a bipartisan bill by pushing rightwing culture war amendments and a voter suppression bill in the NDAA. I work everyday to ensure our servicemembers and military families receive the care they need.

This speed enforcement amendment is a move in the wrong direction. In fact, even the Department of Defense opposes it. Speed cameras are a basic safety component on our bases and there's not a single shred of credible evidence to support their removal.

This week, the Secretary of Defense announced his full support for gender affirming care for our male servicemembers. Now, House Republicans are pushing an amendment that bans gender-affirming care for our servicemembers and their dependents. It’s complete hypocrisy.

More guns does not make us more safe. I was proud to speak against this problematic amendment that undermines Military Leadership and puts our servicemembers and their families at heightened risk of firearm violence.

As a proud member of the House Small Business Committee and the freshman representative for the CHC, I applaud @thirdway.bsky.social and the Center for Entrepreneurial Opportunity for this critical report. Our Hispanic entrepreneurs face too many barriers.
