AS CLOSE AS IT GETS 😳 It LITERALLY comes down to the wire in the final event of the #USATFoutdoor championship, with Cordell Tinch needing every inch of the track to beat out Bradley Franklin. The World champ is now the U.S. champ as he beat out Franklin by 0.004 seconds in 13.00.
HERS FROM THE START 😤 Melissa Jefferson-Wooden gets out like a ROCKET in the #USATFoutdoor 200m final, pulling away from the field before she even hit the straightaway and taking the win in a stadium-record 21.69, just 0.01 off her winning time at last year’s World Championship.
Ouch 😬 After winning the #USATFoutdoor 100m title and equaling his lifetime best of 9.79, Noah Lyles is unable to complete the double as he pulls up with an issue in the 200m final and is forced to walk it in, credited with a 50.88 finishing time in ninth place.
TROJAN ON TOP 🐴 Garrett Kaalund becomes the first collegian in 18 years to win the #USATFoutdoor 200m title, running 20.04 to beat out Brandon Hicklin and Max Thomas, who both run 20.29 in second and third.
IN-VINCE-IBLE 💪 Vince Ciattei uses his middle-distance speed to great advantage in a kicker’s 5000m, claiming his first #USATFoutdoor title at age 31 with a 13:46.75 finishing time and a 26.71 final 200m.
TOTALLY IN CONTROL 🔒 There was no doubt about it in the #USATFoutdoor 400m hurdles final, as Anna Cockrell led from the first hurdle on and broke her own stadium record, taking the national title in 52.94.
Another podium 🥈 For the second year in a row, Shelby Houlihan picks up a top-three finish in the #USATFoutdoor 5000m with a 64.08 final lap and a 14:57.88 runner-up finish behind winner Emily Mackay.

Make ‘em beat ya 😮💨 Parker Valby takes the whole field through 4600 meters in the #USATFoutdoor 5000m final, clicking off 72-second laps before the kicks of Emily Mackay and Shelby Houlihan proved too much to handle. Valby still ended up on the podium, finishing third in 15:06.25.
PERFECT END TO THE WEEKEND 💯 After diving for the line and ending up third in yesterday’s 1500m final, Emily Mackay leaves no room for doubt in the #USATFoutdoor 5000m final, using a 29.27 final 200m to blow away runner-up Shelby Houlihan and claim her first U.S. outdoor title in 14:55.82.

LEGEND IN THE MAKING 🌟 17-year-old Cooper Lutkenhaus DOMINATES the #USATFoutdoor final, blowing away a field of professionals to claim his second national title this year in 1:43.48. Amazingly, Lutkenhaus negative-split a 52.26-51.23, winning in a 1.07 second gap over runner up Wes Ferguson.
GOOD OL’ FASHIONED RACING 👏 Nia Akins was flying under the radar all season after a car accident derailed her spring training, but if Akins knows anything it’s championship 800ms. The now-five-time U.S. champ timed her kick just right in the #USATFoutdoor to pass the entire field to steal a title.
Si-on, and on, and on… 🔥 Valarie Sion extends her incredible #USATFoutdoor win streak with her EIGHTH discus title, a stretch that began back in 2018. Sion’s fifth-round 69.54m was her best effort on the day, and despite an excellent 67.40m challenge from Cierra Jackson in the fifth round.
The collegians ain’t done yet 👀 NCAA athletes take two of the three spots in the #USATFoutdoor 110m hurdles prelims, with Samford’s Bradley Franklin leading the field in a lifetime-best 13.04.
