Winning Pascal's Wager; wearing many hats (literally/figuratively); Paddington & Caligari stan. Cue the music...

I would also ask the designer to include Patrick McGoohan as part of the decor 💚 (Fun with ubiquitous "AI" slop: I just looked up his name to confirm I was spelling it correctly & the top, "AI"-generated, search result was a bio of the actor featuring a thumbnail of another actor, Bradley Whitford)

If I won the lottery I would hire an interior designer and just say “Columbo murderer” while waving my hand around my home office.

Patrick MacGoohan in an episode of Columbo; he’s seated at a glass desk in a wood paneled office with plants and wearing a black turtleneck with a tweed jacket.

Lamine Yamal's little brother, Keyne, shouting " ¡VAMOOOS!" ("Let's goooo!") was the image of this World Cup for millions of Spaniards, and now for people around the world. Even those who aren't sports fan can share that joy 🌟

Everyone in Spain is rooting for "La Roja" ("Big Red", nickname of our national team), in tonight's World Cup final -- even the tins of film at the Conservation & Restauration Centre of the Spanish Film Archive are sporting the colors of the flag! 🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦

Wow, I was unprepared for how hard 17th-c Spanish artist Valdés Leal went with these huge works for the Hospital de la Caridad in Seville: "Ni más ni menos" (Neither More Nor Less) & "In ictu oculi" (In the Wink of an Eye). The most *metal* paintings I've ever seen.

"Ni más ni menos" (Neither more or less), 17th-c painting by Valdés Leal of two rotting corpses in fancy regalia with the hand of Christ (complete with bloody nail puncture) coming out of heaven, holding a scale representing the good & evil they've done"In ictu oculi" (In the Wink of an Eye), by 17th-c Spanish painter Valdés Leal, shows a skeleton holding a scythe & gleefully putting out a candle while staring down the viewer & stomping on a globe, surrounded by the detritus of academic & clerical glory.

Tonight I went to an exceptionally good flamenco show in Cadiz & the break between sets was extended so that the artists & audience could stay in the bar & watch the end of Spain's victory against Belgium, including the 2nd goal. Not surprisingly, the show's 2nd set was even better than the 1st 🇪🇸🇪🇸

LOL -- After finishing Christianna Brand's murder mystery "Death in High Heels", I went online to look up some information about it... and a random AI pop-up (which of course I never asked for) at the top of my search feed provided a fake spoiler featuring a character who isn't even in the novel.
