Former researcher. Shamelessly geeky. Father who is very concerned about his child's future in face of the climate crisis and Canada's complete carbon corruption. And occasional videogame, comicbook and Superman content, because, yeah...

It has been decades since I read the Sandman series. I enjoyed quite a bit of it. I *would* like to add the series to my collection. But I won't. I can't. Because of Gaiman. Perhaps I could equivocate to support the amazing artists. But I wouldn't feel comfortable with that. I'd know.

Death of the Endless pokes Lex Luthor on the nose.

This may be a good time to remind people that trans people in sports has always been normal until recently with SCOTUS. Both parties are fighting to take rights away. Any Democrat that pretends to be “neutral” on this is a liar. There is no neutral. You enabled fascists and took away rights.

The brazen insanity of asserting that mandatory genital exams are better than allowing trans girls to play sports is hysterically immoral. And predators are supporting it and cheering it on because they're going to sexually assault your children. This is Larry Nassar multiplied a thousand fold.

An initiative on the ballot in Washington state in November would require all athletes seeking to play girl's sports from kindergarten to high school to undergo "genetic screening, a testosterone-levels test, or an examination of their reproductive anatomy" before they can play

The Campaign to Force Genital Exams on Girl Athletes Soon Washington State could require sex-verification tests for those playing sports in schools.

The core reason that the Covid response is controversial is because, to conservatives, collective action to ensure other's well-being enraged them because they're violently selfish. It also protected others at the sake of their making money, which is unforgivable.

I don’t understand why anyone would trust an establishment liberal who openly supports throwing trans people under the bus. What’s to stop them from “triangulating” on any of the important issues you personally care about?

This is a very male type of abuser. He's utterly untroubled by assaulting women, because he is unable to perceive his attacks as being morally wrong. Simply being this vilely misogynistic should have disqualified him with voters. His violent contempt for woman is fucking obvious.

Rep. Max Miller: "My former wife has claimed that during a custody exchange at my home that day, I assaulted her…If I had assaulted her, would she have offered to cook me dinner six days later?"

US debt is reaching unsalvageable levels and the strategic petroleum reserve is nearly exhausted. Americans find life expensive right now, but everything is going to be ramping up insanely once processing capacity is less than demand. The endgame of conservative governance is collapse.

Now a swarm of Iranian missiles and unmanned aircraft is attacking U.S. bases in the Gulf, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Jordan.

I just feel angrier and angrier about the intentional vilification of the trans community. The right is going to keep on attacking them, because it really pays off. So many tepid liberals are right there, joining in the attacks. People look at the hatred directed at trans people and affirm it.

Dc Black Label series. The Spectre goes to a standin for Epstein island. It's just issue after issue of body horror as Epstein, Lutnick, Trump, Bannon, Musk, Black and the rest are given unending, ironic cosmic torture and executions. Lean heavily into Lovecraftian darkness. It would be a hit.

The Spectre melts sn evildoers.

Chuck Schumer isn't troubled whatsoever about Palestinians. He's frustrated about being interrupted. Watch his reaction. Impatience. Resentment. He can't believe that he's being confronted for supporting and funding murder. There is no action so grievous that he'll ever give a shit.

Sam Husseini interrupts Chuck Schumer while he speaks about Trump's corruption: "It's amazing that you can show your genocidal face in public!"

Because I'm obsessive, I tend to pick up series that have analogs to Superman. Quite a few are really good: The Mighty, Irredeemable, Moore's Supreme run. Most of them are middling to bad, however, The absolute worst one is King Hyperion, who debuted in The Exiles. Just an absolute shit character.

King Hyperion returns in the Exiles. He's bald and looks like an asshole.

I collect Superman. I also tend to grab DC events omnibuses and random indie horror and sci-fi titles. I don't really read Marvel stuff, but I keep up. I envy Marvel for having Hickman, because he can plot out a really cool story and sustain it for years.

Thor kills a Builder during Hickman's Avengers Infinity event. Mjolnir raced through space and then through the midsection of the Builder, killing it.

So many Canadian institutions, governments, etc... do not want to have to admit that there is no ethical entanglement with Israel. There never was. Imagine being a pro-genocide, pro-apartheid university. "So you support child murder and weaponized rape?" "Not at all! Our donors do, however..."

The next pandemic, and there is another one coming, is going to mow down the CPC voting base. They will eschew vaccines while cramming in fistfuls of Ivermectin suppositories. "Paw-Paw was stubborn to the end. They found him dead in front of the farm supply store."

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com · 6d ago

Rep. John McGuire: "I don't know if you heard about the BLT sandwich -- using human fetus baby parts in the vaccine when they could've used ivermectin"

The takeaway from the Republicans attacking Fauci because their selfish supporters cram Ivermectin up their asses, is that when the next pandemic arrives, medical professionals will not step forward to help Americans. Instead, Republicans can sit in their mire and filth and die.

Think of the INCREDIBLE amount of effort being spent by the administration to make this fucker feel good about himself. Think of the lies being told every moment to reassure him that he is beloved. More attention and money is being spent on making him feel popular than on providing healthcare.

CNN: "The president's overall approval rating now stands at just 34%. That matches his career low following the January 6 insurrection."

There is no moral use of Twitter. There is no moral use of any Musk product. If you enrich a white supremacist, you are revealing that blatant racism and corruption is not disqualifying for you.

Greg Sargent@gregsargent.bsky.social · last wk.

Agreed. On Monday @polphilpod.bsky.social and I explicitly tied Musk USAID cuts to his "belief" that white civilization is embattled and white nations must be saved from invasion to preserve the "West." We argued Musk's "zero died" claim is code to global far right: newrepublic.com/article/2135...

Canada's tech bros. are appalling, wildly egotistical, anti-Democratic douchebags who combine utter ignorance of history, politics... *anything* except a narrow tech niche. They mistake the power they illicitly obtain with expertise. Tobias Lutke is a shitty human being and wildly immoral.
