📚Currently Reading: The Absinthe Underground by @jamiepacton.bsky.social Summary: Esme is content to tinker with her clocks and snuggle her cats, but her best friend and secret crush Sybil has a craving for adventure and theft that gets them tangled in a dangerous quest to steal from a Fae queen.
#QueerPrompts August 5 Dylan & Zephyr meet by crashing into each other, a common meet cute. I also plan lots of romantic gestures that go wrong, like sharing an umbrella that rains inside it, taking animals for a walk and having to stop one from eating the other, and more common romance scenes.
#QueerPrompts August 5: Any scene from a show/movie that's like a scene in your story?
#QueerPrompts August 4 🧑🏽🦰 Dylan would like a big friend group since he isn't super close to any one person. He wants people to talk to. Even strangers would do! 🙎🏻♂️ Zephyr wants no friends and just to be alone. Friends open up to each other and talk about feelings and stuff. That's scary and gross!
#QueerPrompts August 4: Do your character(s) prefer one close friend or a big friend group?
#QueerPrompts August 3 Zephyr's POV: After all, it wasn’t only that I had no desire to make friends. I definitely wasn’t interested in dating, especially someone as annoying as Dylan. Yes, he was cute, but so were kittens and I wasn’t about to date a cat. I’d get hairballs every time we made out.
#QueerPrompts August 3: Scene or snippet with "friend" or "enemy"
#QueerPrompts August 2 🧑🏽🦰 Dylan is outgoing and makes friends easily. Well, when people don't think he's weird. He's nice to everyone and so avoids making enemies. 🙎🏻♂️ Zephyr actively tries to avoid making friends so he can be left alone. His bad boy persona keeps others away from him. Until Dylan.
#QueerPrompts August 2: Are your character(s) more likely to make friends or enemies?
#caturday theme: Hey! 😺 The black and white kitten Oreo wants some attention while he relaxes!

#QueerPrompts July 30 Nix starts with one friend. After he runs away, he's befriended by a group of non-magical students. After meeting Max, he's drawn into a friend group of magical students. He feels caught in between, being friends with both while the non-magical and magical resent each other.

📚Currently Reading: Summer Official by @rdotspoon.bsky.social Summary: Opposites attract when an outgoing girl tries to escape her over-sharing mom by joining a grumpy girl's Summer Bingo challenge in exchange for help building a social media presence. #booksky #sapphicbooks
#QueerPrompts July 29: National Lipstick Day: What color of lipstick would your character(s) be? 👱♂️Nix would be gold, representing his sun bond and bright personality. 👨🏽🦱Max would be green, representing his earth bond and love of nature.

The fate of #QueerPrompts: I have decided that I will keep the hashtag as it is. That said, I love replacing the word prompts with queries but spelled queeries! 😁 So I may change it at some point. Until then, I decided to stop posting daily prompts on Meta platforms and posted this as my reason:
Since I first created #QueerPrompts in 2023, the word "prompt" has become almost exclusively about AI. This means many platforms now link #QueerPrompts to posts about AI prompts. Should I rename #QueerPrompts? But what can I call the prompts? They're not all questions, so what? Any ideas welcome!
#QueerPrompts July 28 How can I answer this without spoilers? Gravity's Fire has a main character named Phoenix and a chapter called Afterlife, while Paranormal Activity Club has a main character who's a ghost that only one boy can see, so both stories deal with this in different ways.
#QueerPrompts July 28: Afterlife in your story?
#queerwriters Monday: Goals Day! 📝 Organize characters and plot outline for WIP 🤔 Decide how many POVs is too many... 😖 Pick character names already! ✂️ Finish August display and put up Saturday 🗓️ Get QueerPrompts August up everywhere by Friday #️⃣ Decide whether to rename QueerPrompts 😴 Sleep?
#queerwriters Monday: Goals Day! What do you hope to accomplish this week? Can be anything, big or small! Let us know so we can cheer you on! #WritingCommunity #lgbtqwriters
Thank you all for the great ideas and support! 😁 To clarify, it's mostly the Meta platforms that link #QueerPrompts to posts about AI prompts and so I only see AI prompts when I try to browse it and writers rightfully against AI don't see QueerPrompts and instead those browsing AI prompts do.

#QueerPrompts July 27 Nix and Max would obviously spend their last day on earth in each other's arms. Actually, that's how they'd want to spend every day... 🤷🏼♂️ I feel like the Paranormal Activity Club would be trying to stop it from being their last day on earth or figure out what comes next. 🕵️

#queerwriters Sunday: Line Share Day: "level" From my paranormal romcom WIP: “He’ll be demoted of course! He’ll be assigned to the lowest level of the Pentagon. And not the fun low level with all the secrets. It’ll be the sewage system, because he was a bad boy.”
