I track campaign finance in Texas, connecting the “what” to the “why” with my wife, @mentack.bsky.social Started http://seeitnameitfightit.com. Lots of talk about numbers, campaign finance, a spotlight on Christian nationalism, and some punk rock.

91 Days Until Election Day You can’t be focused everywhere at once. None of us have unlimited resources. So how do we decide where to dig in? We dive into the data, looking at history in a precinct, trends, and specifically non-voters, and how those numbers change based on the election cycle.

Right at a year ago, Tim O’Hare, Matt Krause, and Manny Ramirez decided to reduce Tarrant County polling locations ahead of the November 2025 election. That’s nothing compared to what they are planning to reduce for the November 2026 election. This is Mendi using her one minute to push back in 2025

95 Days until Election Day (11/3) @menditackett.bsky.social reminds us that in 2024, 475,000 registered voters made the decision not to vote in the Presidential race in Tarrant County. We don’t have to convert or persuade the other side to win. We just need to focus on values and make connections.

They Don’t Want You To Vote Tarrant County Commissioners Court is reducing polling locations in November. Tarrant had 199 locations for the Primary. We had 25% turnout and many locations with long lines. In November, with turnout expected in the mid 50s, 176 locations. WTF. They are scared of you

Focus Local PAC isn’t on BlueSky, but I am! ——— 97 Days to Election Day (11/3) This is the first of what we are thinking will be a series of posts diving into what is happening in Tarrant County. In this one, Chris touches on the myth of the “red” county. You should check out focuslocalpac.com 🤓🗳️

Do You Stand On The Side Of Civil Rights? Mindia was zeroed in on court filings and Shayma Alzubi at the Fort Worth ISD board meeting on 7/21/26, pulling zero punches. Shayma Alzubi was cleared in the investigation. Make her the principal of Western Hills High School.

All I See Is A Drained Swimming Pool Whoa. Sabrina brought it at the Fort Worth ISD board meeting on 7/21/26, pulling zero punches going right at the Abbott / Morath / TEA appointed Superintendent (Licata) and Board of Managers President (Geren). The connections she’s making are spot on.

Yesterday was a dive into the statewide races based on the Semi-July campaign finance reports filed with the Texas Ethics Commission. Today, a focus on Tarrant County, with a look a TX Senate and House races (reports from the TEC) and County races (reports from the County). 🔗⬇️

“The left is going to lose these elections for us,” say the people who lost 2000, 2002, 2004, 2010, 2014, 2016, 2024 — often because they were fixated on the “winning” strategy of punching left and wooing center right voters

People will tell you a $150M Senate race is where the fight is. We think it's a 25,000-vote gap in Tarrant County, the biggest "red" county left in Texas. We need your help to crowdfund democracy, especially those of you who are in safe blue spaces. We are the frontline

Mendi and I have been talking about the ideas in this one for a while now. It was time to finally pull all of those thoughts together. This is The Public Education Trap (AKA Don’t Chase Republicans). If you read it and it resonates, please share to help others see it (name it, fight it 😉)

The Public Education Trap (AKA: Don’t Chase Republicans)
