January reading wrap-up Strong start to the year and managed to read everyday even if it was just a page or two or a few minutes with my audiobook. Tag: @thestorygraph.com for the cool graphics
Sometimes we play games, sometimes we sort cards with Gargoyles playing in the background. It was a good Sunday evening with @colplaysgames.bsky.social #tabletop #tcg #lorcana
#tabletop night with @colplaysgames.bsky.social and we enjoyed very addictive snacks my friend sent from the USA. Cheddar Jalapeño Cheetos go spectacularly with a cold Corona and table top. 📕 A Place for All My Books 🐉 Flamecraft Duals
The Worlds of #JaneAusten: The Influences & Inspiration Behind the Novels by Helena Kelly. Pick up a book I wanted in the Waterstones sale, you say? Heck, yeah!
The Complete Novels of Jane Austen, 250th Anniversary Edition, Penguin Clothbound. Couldn’t resist picking this up to complete my #JaneAusten Clothbound editions. To be fair, I’m a complete sucker for anything celebrating Jane and her 250th Anniversary.
Ghosted by Alice Vernon. I do love ghost stories, ghost bothering myself, and the history behind our fascination so I’m very much looking forward to reading this book gifted to me by @colplaysgames.bsky.social
Jane Austen’s Christmas edited by Maria Hubert Very interesting read with letters, poems, exerts and recipes, and it makes me appreciate my own traditions and activities.
ZomCom’ics by Emi MG Picked this up at my local friendly comic book store @travellingmanuk.bsky.social Newcastle. Very funny and I can see myself picking it up just to take a break with a couple of comics for a quick mental pick me up. #zomcomics #emimg #travellingman #comics
Last months #Tabletopgames played. November was a bit of a slower month as we had lots of things going on in real life. Hopefully we’ll get some more done over the Christmas break. Really proud of The Boy beating us at Steam Up. All games played with @clairedrinkstea.bsky.social
A Heart for Christmas by Sophie Jomain. Bought for me as an advent challenge by @colplaysgames.bsky.social. I really enjoyed doing the chapter a day reads for #JaneAustenThenandNow Book Club so this is going to be a treat.
The Bookshop Below by Georgia Summers. I love it when Past Claire makes preorders for Future Claire to enjoy. She can be a pain sometimes, but she’s a goodin’ when it comes to books.
Played a couple of new #tabletopgames with @colplaysgames.bsky.social this weekend, Steam Up: A Feast of Dim Sum and Flamecraft Duals. Both were great, so proud of our Poyo Boyo beating us at Steam Up.
Brigands & Breadknives by Travis Baldree. My first copy, the (signed) Indie edition. Can’t wait to see Fern again and hear her potty mouth
Snake-Eater by T. Kingfisher My T. Kingfisher collection increases again! Mwah ha ha ha!!
Moby Duck: Cryptid Kids 2 by Sara Goetter and Natalie Riess Yey! Book 2! My Poyo Boyo and I love the Cryptid Kids and have been looking forward to Moby Duck since Bawk-ness Monster.
One happy boy because he has new books. 💀 Mallory Vayle and Maggoty Skull In... The Beast from Beneath by Martin Howard ✨ Arkspire 2: The Order of Misfits by Jamie Littler 🐺 Midnight Treasure by Piers Torday
Coffeeshop in an Alternate Universe by C. B. Lee Throwback to a book I picked up in July when I had a trip to London. Cosy coffeeshop read but make it SciFi!
SEPTEMBER TABLE TOP GAMES Slower month than last playing table top games with @colplaysgames.bsky.social but we haven’t had annual leave to give us time to play and I’ve had a horrible and persistent attack of the ick so energy and ability to play hasn’t been there.
September reading wrap-up on @thestorygraph.com Read a few good graphic novels month and had lots of fun with Heads Will Roll by @joshwinning.bsky.social. Didn’t read as much or as consistently due to a horrible and persistent attack of the ick.
The Summer War by @naominovik.bsky.social I love Naomi Novak’s writing. This is a novella which suits my concentration levels at the moment so I’m excited to read. Also… pretty!
A Steeping of Blood by Hafsah Faizal. Yey for new releases! The second part of the Blood and Tea duology and it’s just as gorgeous as the first. I love books… especially ones with vampires.
What Stalks the Deep by T. Kingfisher, book 3 in the Sworn Soldier series. Another to add to my Year of Kingfisher reading challenge and my ever-expanding Kingfisher collection.
#JaneAusten #BookClub September is our THEN book reading of Emma for the #JaneAustenThenandNow Book Club organised by @crinoline_laphroaig. I’ve either been super busy or full of I’ll so I have opted for the graphic novel, Jane Austen’s Emma by Jane Austen and Nancy Butler.
Tiny Book Shop (Switch) I’ve been ill this week, still am, so concentrating on anything and staying awake has been hard. A friend recommended Tiny Book Shop for something cosy, chill and very low stakes and it’s been exactly that. Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver. I don’t know what it is, but a trigger warning “accidental cannibalism” always intrigues me… This has been on my TBR for ages and I’ve finally had the opportunity to read it! It was good! It’s not going to be for everyone but I really enjoyed it.
The Pumpkin Spice Café by Laurie Gilmore Don’t threaten me with a good time: seasonally themed romance and matching hot beverage, yes please!
Pizza Witch by Sarah Graley & Stef Purenins Saw a signed copy of Pizza Witch today at @travellingmanuk.bsky.social Newcastle when we were there for a book signing and I needed it in my life. The spotlighting is wonderful and I’m looking forward to devouring this book (pun intended).
