I’ve been blown off course a bit this week with lots of admin, a book cover rough and a commission rough, not to mention mounting 76 prints for the Scillies. This means the summer teasels have had to be patient. Nearly there now - here’s a little corner away from the last section I showed you.

I've just finished this 60x60cm painting of our (almost) daily walk . At the moment there's waist high cow parsley that must be wriggled through to emerge into the field. This was early evening, and that's Stratford-upon-Avon in the distance. It's always nice, even in the rain.

Something big and bold for the upcoming exhibition at Padstow Gallery. I'll be setting off very early on Thursday to deliver my paintings, then it's over to Liz to hang them all while I slope off to go for a pasty. She wouldn't want me getting in the way now, would she?

This is part of a painting I started on Thursday. I’ve always loved this farm, glimpsed from the M40 not far from Oxford services. The different parts on the farm look as if they’ve grown like branches over time and I love the angles of the roofs.

Old Town, St Mary’s - a favourite spot on St Mary’s, Isles of Scilly. Harold Wilson is buried in a very simple grave in the churchyard off to the right, so he must have liked it too. Thank you to Tamarisk Gallery for selling this little painting yesterday.

Anyone in Cornwall at Easter? The Spring Exhibition at Padstow Gallery is kicking off on Good Friday and the artists will be in attendance on the first day, trying to keep away from the fizz so they can chat to visitors in a sensible manner. Cough.

A lovely bit of stone masonry spotted at St Dogmaels Abbey this week. Zoom in to see an angel with a fine set of wings. The abbey and monastery had shrunk to just 8 monks when Henry Vlll forced its closure in 1536. I loved this determined survivor.

Less than a week to go until booking opens for Broadway Arts Festival in June. I’m taking part at ArtBeat (no booking required and free to visit) as well as doing a day long floral workshop and an evening talk about how to survive as an artist. Busy busy! Hope to see you at some stage. 😁
