The moon was hidden behind buildings but I could see Regulus, Jupiter and Mars in the eastern sky, lovely #planets

Not a bad haul for a clear night. Red-line Quaker (we rarely get these) Lunar Underwing x4, L-album Wainscot x3, Square-spot Rustic, Willow Beauty, Chestnut, Least Carpet, VC17 #teammoth
Just one LBAM in a two hour trap this evening in cloudy, damp, warm conditions. I'm wondering if what some other people have wondered is true, that a lot of the autumn species died as larvae during the drought? #teammoth
A Lunar Underwing NFY and a tiny Clancy's Rustic had the decency to stick around after the foxy onslaught 😆 #teammoth
I had an early night last night so set an alarm for 4am as I knew the battery wouldn't last from 9pm to 6am. I stuffed the trap entrance with blue roll then went back to bed. Then an hour later this happened 🙄 #teammoth #ukwildlife
A rather wobbly digiscoped video of an Osprey this morning. Two Hobbies and a few Clouded Yellows were also nice #ukwildlife
The trap was very quiet this morning despite what seemed like ideal conditions overnight. Our first Chestnut of the autumn turned up plus Clancy's, Flounced, Square-spot Rustics, Yellow Shell, Small Blood-vein x2, LYU & Willow Beauty, VC17 #teammoth
An unexpected visitor and garden first last night. I'm not sure how he managed to get under the gate #ukwildlife
The trap looked suspiciously quiet this morning. It is waiting in the porch with the opening stuffed with paper towel. The wall above it was a mass of Willow Beauties, Straw Underwings and Cypress Pugs. I don't think it's going to take long to empty it later #teammoth
A welcome splash of orange amongst the sea of brown from a brief trap yesterday evening, VC17 #teammoth
The moth trap was fairly dismal this morning unless you are a big fan of LYU. A walk along the canal was nice. I saw my first Migrant Hawkers of the year. There are still lots of Grayling on the wing and I saw an adult Pike and this little one #teammoth #ukwildlife
I know that one has its wings open and is closer to the camera, but there was a vast difference in size between these two Silver-y #teammoth
2 of the 4 Vestals in the trap this morning after what started as a chilly, clear night. The trap was rammed. Dewick's Plusia, Clancy's Rustic and Rusty Dot Pearl among the highlights. Pale Mottled Willows and Straw Underwings were well represented, VC17 Meanwhile, I'm going back to bed 😴 #teammoth
Another morning, another Vestal 😊. The entrance to the trap is stuffed and the trap is waiting in the cool porch ready to be emptied later. I did see September Thorn, Yellow Shell and Garden Carpet in there, VC17 #teammoth
