Another day another debris flow fan! Today the UO gang, along with friends from UAF, explored the 19 mile debris fan in Haines, Alaska. The day included installing cameras, collecting rocks, and enjoying wild raspberries.
This week, Josh Roering’s research group touched down in Southeast Alaska! Today, the group started off their field work - including checking out new culverts, downloading seismometer data, and updating infrasound sensors. Stay tuned for more awesome science and beautiful Alaska photos!
Just over a month away until our first CLaSH Annual Meeting in Boulder on Sept 24-25! Come and learn about the latest advancements in hazard science from experts in the field. See more details about our annual meeting here: sites.google.com/umich.edu/20....
Yesterday, we headed to the field to collect some data at a burn site from the 2020 Cameron Peak fire! Made field observations, set ground control points, took drone surveys, and (of course) ate lunch in the rain for a classic field work adventure. #remotesensing #rainorshine
CLaSH is in session! Over the coming days, our field course students will learn how to use methods such as GPS/GNSS, UAS, and LiDAR to collect post-reconnaissance data in Colorado - stay tuned for updates, we're off to the field tomorrow! #hazardscience #insidetheclashroom
