Interesting find that general LLMs do better than coding-specific models when it comes to Fortran. Maybe another reason is this saying: „You start up with English and end up with Fortran.“ I love the colors that your phone is adding to the screen fotos – clear tells for no AI.

1. General LLMs beat coding-specific models at writing Fortran, likely bc code models are overfitted to Python 2. This conf begins the age of Claude-generated pptx. Clear tells 3. My phone doesn’t like these #ISC26 projectors

I‘m always happy to come to HLRS / Stuttgart for our training collaboration – „Hybrid Programming in HPC – MPI+X“ this time together with Tobias Haas and Georg Hager. Engaged participants onsite & online, good vibes in the room, and a huge construction site outside for the new HLRS building. #HPC

Excellent reads – paper, essay, and blog post. As we are starting procurement of our AI Factory Austria #AI:AT system soon, I especially enjoyed Glenn’s @glennklockwood.com perspective „of an HPC-turned-AI infrastructure practitioner“. When #HPC meets #AI

Dan Reed published an essay on what #HPC needs to do to remain competitive in the age of #AI yesterday (hpcdan.org/2026/02/06/h...). It was so engaging that I jotted notes as I read and figured I might as well publish them: blog.glennklockwood.com/2026/02/hpc-...
