President @CanadianLabour Advocating for workers across Canada. Mom, dog-lover, proud former grocery clerk, fighting for fairness for all workers. https://workerstogether.ca/

Yesterday, we lost a great friend of the labour movement, Geraldine McGuire. Through her work as CUPE national’s secretary-treasurer and former CUPE BC president, she fought tirelessly for workers, equality and justice. Her leadership and solidarity will be deeply missed.

Canadian labour has lost a remarkable leader. Sister Stephanie Smith was a fierce champion for workers who led with humility, integrity, and compassion. I'm proud to have called her a sister. My heartfelt condolences to her loved ones and our labour family. www.bcgeu.ca/media_releas...

There’s no place like Winnipeg, my hometown, and a city built on worker power. I’m proud to welcome thousands of workers, leaders, and delegates here for our 31st Constitutional Convention as we continue building what comes next.

Heartbroken by the devastating tragedy in Tumbler Ridge. Our hearts are with the families, loved ones, and the entire community grieving this unimaginable loss. Thank you to the first responders and frontline workers who are on the ground during this horrific time.

Aviation safety isn’t a political bargaining chip. Using certification to score political points puts workers’ jobs and public safety at risk on both sides of the border. Decisions about safety belong to experts, not politicians.

Aviation safety must be based on evidence and expertise, not politics. Threats to decertify Canadian aircraft and impose punitive tariffs risk undermining a safe, integrated North American aviation system.

Today, I met with Minister LeBlanc alongside trade union leaders from across the country ahead of the 2026 CUSMA review. We came together because workers have a lot at stake in these decisions.

We stand with the people of Minnesota and the American labour movement in voicing our outrage against the killing of a young woman by ICE. Workers standing up for one another includes fighting to defend the rights of immigrant workers and their families. An injury to one is an injury to all.

"This is not immigration enforcement nor is it law enforcement. This is the kind of behavior we expect from a dangerous and authoritarian regime, not the United States of America. aflcio.mn/49szSXl

Individuals living with a disability deserve to live in dignity. Achieving that requires a a disability benefit that makes it possible. Even more so, workers want pathways to meaningful employment with a fair wage. Let’s not focus on this issue only one day per year.

Canadian Labour@canadianlabour.bsky.social · 10mo ago

The numbers don’t lie: -1.5M+ people with disabilities live in poverty -1 in 3 can’t access the labour market -75% face harassment or violence at work Canada must do better. A strong Canada Disability Benefit is long overdue. End disability poverty now. canadianlabour.ca/canadas-unio...

This is outrageous. Algoma Steel took public money, our money, and paid workers back with pink slips. When I was in Sault Ste. Marie earlier this year, workers and USW leaders warned this exact thing would happen without real job protections.

CFL players are workers — covered by a collective agreement, but not by workers’ comp. With a 100% injury rate & avg career of just 3.5 years, that’s unacceptable. Grateful to meet the Canadian Football League Players Association's leaders today to talk change. 🏈 #CFL #canlab

It’s a wrap! Union leaders gathered in Ottawa to strategize as workers face rising costs, a housing crisis, strained public services, and trade tensions. Canada’s unions are calling for urgent action to protect jobs, strengthen the economy, and support families.

Grateful to Martin Moen, Associate Assistant Deputy Minister of International Trade, for joining us to discuss the escalating trade war. Workers and communities are paying the price, and we need action to protect Canadian jobs and industries.

It was an honour to share the stage with such incredible leaders. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to fighting for working people ✊

What a night! Over 2,500 registered, watch parties were hosted across Canada, and 180 people cheered live in Ottawa for our @ndp.ca Leadership Forum. Rebuilding starts with workers. Let’s keep pushing for a party that puts people first. #WorkersTogether

What a day on Cape Breton! Yesterday, I attended the 100th anniversary of William Davis’s murder—killed for standing up for workers’ rights. A powerful reminder that every labour victory is built on sacrifice. We carry that fight forward. Always. #DavisDay

Thank you to Linda Silas (‪@cfnupresident.bsky.social‬) for having me at ‪@cfnu.bsky.social‬'s convention. Amazing to see 1,200 nurses from across Canada organizing for fair wages, safe staffing, and strong public health care. Workers' conditions are patient care conditions. Solidarity! 💪🩺
