2026 is a triple COP year, with world leaders meeting three times to address the interconnected crises of climate change, biodiversity loss, & land degradation. On Friday at #SB64, this made for one of the most energising sessions we've been part of: 'Advancing synergies across the #RioConventions’.
Implementation, financing, policy coherence, participation - core themes echoing through conversations at #SB64. Yesterday, we co-hosted a side event on DPI & the Belém Technology Implementation Programme, exploring how to make sure technology solutions actually unlock climate action on the ground.
Want to know how to maximise impact by keeping your data systems boring, so you can use your data in more exciting ways? This Sunday, three of our data engineering team Fred O'Loughlin, @kaparker.bsky.social, & Mark Cottam will be making the case for boring tech @pydatalondon.bsky.social.
📢 Call for papers: ClimateNLP workshop at @emnlpmeeting.bsky.social Now in its third edition, #ClimateNLP brings together those working at the intersection of NLP & climate. This October, CPR’s @kdutia.bsky.social will be co-hosting at #EMNLP, one of the world's leading NLP conferences.
The Sustainability Transition team at @fau.de is working with NFDI4Energy to build energy policy datasets in Germany & beyond. Their goal is to support better decision-making based on evidence, from climate & energy targets, to regulations for where clean energy technologies can & cannot be built.
Each session at this week's #NatureTechUnconference is shaped by members of a community making real movement towards a nature-positive future. They’ll then be reshaped & remixed by the people in the room.
100 Topics. 100 "smart search terms". 100 individual words & phrases connected to a whole web of meaning - related terms, regional variations, expert knowledge - so when you search our 35,000+ climate, nature, & development documents, you can find what matters.
The Chair of Sustainability Transition Policy @fauwiso.bsky.social has launched the Climate Policy Atlas, an #OpenAccess dataset visualising climate & energy policy across the EU & UK, to understand what's driving the #EnergyTransition. Glad CPR's data helped make it possible: climatepolicyatlas.org
Climate Policy Atlas
Welcome to the Climate Policy Atlas: a project presenting high-resolution, curated and open data on energy and climate policies and targets. The Climate Policy Atlas is based on the Climate and Energy Policy Ontology, a structured, semantic framework for organising climate and energy policy instrument data in a consistent and comparable way. The project aims to enable empirical policy analysis and make existing policy data more accessible and interoperable. The Climate Policy Atlas is funded by the German Research Foundation DFG project NFDI4Energy.
